Hey, no worries, I'm not pissed of, just quitely amused by the whole bulletin board experience... :)

Anyway, you want your phone off right.

Now, press and hold down the voice record button.

Press and hold the power button.

As soon as the screen flickers or you get the slightest hint that the phone has started powering up, release both buttons.

When the prompt about pressing the action button appears, press and hold the action button. Keep holding the action button until the menu comes up.

Is your phone brand new? The new ones I've heard have the update allready on them and the new bios gives you much less time to press and hold the action button. It might be tricky to get the press and hold in before the prompt times out.

Yippie, its all worked, done the check and it come up with the new name I entered.

Was sh%^ing brick for a little bit cause the phone seemed to just hang on the sunsent screen for ages. But it came on to the blue screen, at which point of copied the new files over the top of the old one, and then it sorted it.

So I take it if the new name your entered is show than the process has worked and nothing else to check.....correct???

New name means it has definitely processed your edited provxml files.

The thing to check after that is:

A) You can still use normal functions like GPRS and sending SMS messages. If you edited it wrong you could potentially damage the Orange Certificates which would stop these privileged apps working.

:) You can run uncertified apps. Try gnuboy or PHM Registry editor.
