Would not start until I unlocked the bootloader clearing the phone

Okay I had an odd one, I've been getting random restarts but yesterday my phone would not boot past the Motorola logo, no boot animations, nothing. I tried a few options from the boot menu but got nowhere.

 

So in a last ditch attempt I went to motorola and got the bootloader unlock code and applied it.

It complained about not being able to clear data so I thought it failed but found it had unlocked, thinking it was still trashed I restarted and low and behold it had cleared all the data but was rebooting. Lets see what the online backup retrieves.
