Root and Bootloader discussion

I've managed to build TWRP but I can't get it to boot, the SU6 just goes directly to fastboot everytime, so I am obviously doing something wrong.  I'm pretty certain the device tree is ok so maybe it's the way I am packing it...   "make recoveryimage" and using the "build/tools/device/makerecoveries.sh" scripts both produce an img file that doesn't boot.

So I dunno, not had this problem before :(

Oh dear. Let's hope Paul or KonstaT chime in here as I have no idea.

Extract your image and a stock image and check the addresses match?

When I extract my recovery.img with ./unmkbootimg I get the following which matches stock and your recovery.  I've just setup a new virtual machine on my mac and going to try building on that to see if it's something weird on the kimsufi dedi.

Kernel address 0x80008000
Ramdisk size 3419054
Ramdisk address 0x82000000
Secondary size 0
Secondary address 0x80f00000
Kernel tags address 0x80000100
Flash page size 2048

OFF_RAMDISK_ADDR is 0x02000000

Hi,

New to the forum, been reading the su6 thread for a few days.

Not done anything major with android since desire HD. Haha

Can anyone boot to bootloader? I tried a few ways just sits on the android screen.

I have noticed when I try it automatically removes mtp, could this be a problem?

it also resets my settings i.e ringtone, brightness etc...

I have all the drivers installed including adb etc...

Also I'm not rooted and fully stock at mo.

Thanks Lukas.

The android screen at the beginning of the phone start up?

When I use adb reboot bootloader, the phone restarts and sticks on the android splash screen and won't budge, have to hold power to shut down.

So that's defiantly the bootloader? Changed a lot since I last had a fiddle with android.

Yeah it changes from device to device I think. Zte ones are usually just a basic splash screen I think.

Yes thats the bootloader, but it's not of much use because the only command that works is the help command. :(

I know, the only reason I can assume adb won't work is because mtp is reset when you enter bootloader.

This is my only assumption at the minute, kinda clutching at straws.

Would this make a difference?

so when i use a different usb cable and remove the mtp option, these drivers install for some reason.

useful or not?

What and where are you trying to get adb to work? Adb works in system and recovery using the standard nexus drivers from google. Or are you trying to get it working in bootloader? Because that won't work.

I have adb installed and working.

I'm trying to figure out how to get fastboot working.

I don't understand why it installed those drivers on the screenshot when UN tick mtp.

Also what won't work in bootloader?

I have adb with fastboot, would there be an option to enable the fastboot within a script in the phone files?

Just a spam site sadly!

There is no superboot for Su6. How do I know? I created superboots.

That site is a joke read it properly and you will realise its just fake. For starters it claims to link to a file from modaco... Paul would know about it surely and we would have seen it. The post below is about how to update to lollipop... Which we already have.

Thank you for the heads up. I thought it would be a "scam" of some sort anyway.

The thing that bothers me is the quantity of information abou this device in that website. Strange...

Anyway, i've created a few roms myself in the past (since Android Cupcake and on) and i have one of these myself. Maybe i'll make an effort (family time kills me ) and try something because this looks like a good device for daily use and much more. Any news and Modaco can count me in. No reward needed because hey..this is a community
