Guest neilmasters Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 :)I have downloaded the .up file, put it on my external SD card root and renamed the extension to .zip - so update_UK_VDF_P839V55V1.0.0B13_to_V1.0.0B03.zip is in the root.I'm using the inbuilt updater. Settings > About Phone > Software Update > SD Card Update but I then get the message @ 'No update file could be found on your storage' (or similar). Is there another way I could flash it?
Guest Frankish Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Yes. Boot into stock recovery. Power on with volume button held up. And select update from SD using volume buttons. Power button to confirm. Should work.
Guest macbreakweeklyfan Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 You know, folks, adb sideload is SO much easier, and the better way to flash firmware with zero hassle.
Guest whispers Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 I now seem to be totally screwed. After going round the houses trying to get some method to work for this update, I tried to completely remove root using SuperSU, booted into Recovery to try to flash the Stock ROM (which of course didn't work, due to some signature verification issue). I was going to give up and restore things to the way they were, so tried to reinstall Kingroot from the SD card. It seemed to install, but does not appear in the apps drawer, and I obviously don't have root now, so have no other way to restore anything (TWRP currently not installed, Titanium backup doesn't have root etc).Any ideas as to how I can at least restore root?
Guest Frankish Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Reboot. Reinstall king root. Does happen occasionally for some reason. I've done multiple wipes and fresh installs.
Guest whispers Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Thanks, I'll give it another go. Tried it twice already. Though part of my problem is that I'm unable to do a fresh install!Actually, forgot to mention something else that's happened - Play Store is no longer working, just a white screen...
Guest whispers Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Don't know whether it's also worth mentioning that when I open the KingRoot apk to install, it's asking me if I "want to install an update to this built-in application". Is that normal?
Guest icecosta Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 You cant install the original ROM from zte? You dont need to flash from recovery, you can flash from the settings menu, install update from SD card, you need to put update.zip on SD card and voilà... And apparently Vodafone is not sending this update Thro ota anymore, so maybe the best to do at this point is flash original firmware and wait for more news on the subject.

Is that normal?Yeah.. I needed to format my phone a few hours ago to root again... So maybe you're going to need to format it.And now i have SuperSU without KingRoot folders or icons.
Guest whispers Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Yeah.. I needed to format my phone a few hours ago to root again... So maybe you're going to need to format it.And now i have SuperSU without KingRoot folders or icons. You mean a factory reset?

Should work.Great stuff, that worked - thanks! http://imgur.com/a/2j9bE For those doing it that way, some points:File needs to be on EXTERNAL sd cardYou need to rename it to have a .zip filenameVolume buttons are up and down, power button is selectWhen it's installing, sometimes it looks like it's doing nothing - be patient!!! Takes about 10 mins in total. You need to manually reboot at the endEdit:Oh, and you will need to re-enable 'double tap to wake', which for some reason is disabled during teh update. Thanks for the suggestion, I wouldn't have thought a factory reset would affect Kingroot, so you saved me!
Guest whispers Posted August 15, 2015 Report Posted August 15, 2015 So has anyone noticed any difference after doing this update, any change in behaviour?

Guest brmourato Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 Thanks but I'm stuck on boot animation so can't flash with flashify... can I flash via apply update from sdcard in stock recovery?
Guest LiNe171 Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 You should be able to apply the update from stock recovery.. I already did it without problems. Put the sdcard on PC and just put the update.zip on sdcard. Don't put all the folder (when you download it comes with a name like 2525251515151.zip, if you extract a folder with the name of "Pacote de atualização..." will appear.. Open that folder and you got the update.zip there.. Put that update.zip on sdcard then try to flash on stock recovery )
Guest brmourato Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 You were right! I was trying to install the zip file that I've downloaded... With the update.zip within that zip it installed ok and now I have a working phone again :)Thanks, I'm already installing the new update :)
Guest lunario Posted August 20, 2015 Report Posted August 20, 2015 ok ota updated installed Vodafone PT rooted again with mobile go updated supersu from store
