I've just been told at a Tesco store that there will be a tablet very similar specs and price to the hudl 2 launching in a few weeks after trying to purchase their display model at a discount. They said they couldn't sell off the one on the stand as they had to send them back and they cannot take the hudl2 stand down untill the new one is ready

This sounds very odd. One of the major selling points of the Hudl 1 and 2 was that they were filled with various online services provided by Tesco.

Tesco are desperately saving money wherever they can and have flogged off all their online services. What would be the point of selling another tablet for possibly small profit?

That was my thoughts I wasn't expecting that at all with the current rumours but suppose wait and see.

In an ideal world I would have just wanted the display model they had to mess about with since I have a Sony Z4 tablet anyway

Hi the tablet they are referring to is probably the connect windows tablet which is available in 8 and 10 inch versions starting at £99. They are similar to the Hudl in hardware apart from ram and obviously run windows 10 not android. The connect range has replaced the hudl 2 end in my local shop.

Ah that's a shame was hoping for another droid tablet I don't even really have a Windows computer anymore

Those connects have been on sale at Tezzys for a while now. Not the best build quality. Not a patch on the Hudl 2.

Let's face it. That's the end of the Android outing for Tesco. Enjoy your Hudl........ If you are lucky enough to own one now.
