Nexus 9 Forum? Question about Google Search Widget?

I can't find a forum for the HTC Google Nexus 9, so I'm posting here.

My Nexus 9 has Android 6.0 Marshmallow. How do I remove the Google Search Widget from the Home screen?

Not sure about the Nexus 9 but on my Nexus 5X the Google Search widget is part of the Google Now Launcher and I regained control of what appeared on the home screen by switching to the Nova launcher.

The only way you can do it is by using a different launcher such as Nova.
