You will need the ADB drivers installed on your PC to do this, that might be worth mentioning.

True that.

Trying to return to Irish stock rom 5.0.2 from turkish 5.1.

I have downloaded the stock recovery flashable twrp zip for 5.0.2 and the stock firmware, both on external sd.

Flashed recovery no problem and can boot into it but when i try to update using zip on sd card it give me an error e: footer wrong, e: signature verification failed.

Am I doing something blatantly wrong here? This is the way I updated before I thought.

Did you extract "update.zip" from *within* the downloaded Irish stock ZIP? That's a common mistake; you need to pull "update.zip" out of the downloaded stock ZIP and place it on the root. :)

Can somebody remind how to flash this .up file - I remember booting into recovery last time (I think?)!

Never mind

1) Rename to .zip
2) Copy to SD Card
3) Boot into recovery using Vol Up and Power
4) Update from SD Card option, select zip.

Bingo, done.

I asked over on boards.ie and I seem to be the only one affected. It's just gone!

unrooting is not enough you need to install stock 5.02 rom and then update.

uninstalling kinroot or su only is not enough

already done that 3 times and same result

You have to flash stock ROM, then flash the latest update available (not this one). then update to 5.1.1 otherwise it won't work.
