Update Zip to enable DT2W on Huawei / Honor devices

If you are using a Huawei / Honor device without DT2W (double tap to wake), you can enable it using this zip file (apply from TWRP).

Points to note...

  • support is still kernel dependent so even though the option will appear in smart assistance -> motion control, it may not work for all devices (I'm looking into potential kernel changes for unsupported devices)
  • backup everything before installing
  • this change is tested on the Huawei P9

You can download the zip file from Gitlab, where the source is also hosted. Enjoy!

I'd seen this for P9 Lite and was tempted however I want to keep Android Pay working so don't want to root really or mess with system files if it disables this.

It probably would disable Pay if there's a system partition check.

I'm getting an error in trwp, something a long the line of "Could not find 'meta-inf/com/google/android/update-binary' in the zip file"

Should the zip be only 445kb?
