Guest ivanko021 Posted November 4, 2017 Report Posted November 4, 2017 Hi, My Marshmallow Smart Ultra 6 is very slow, battery life is bad and I can't use AUX cables. I thought I'd do a factory reset but I thought I might as well downgrade to Lollipop. I see there are bits and pieces of info on the topic scattered around the forum but no thread specifically about that. I would like to ask for help with this and I'll collate all info I've gathered here so if anyone wants to do the same in the future, they have what to use as a guide. 1. I have downloaded the UK 5.1.1 VDF-995NB01-UK09b stock ROM & recovery from the Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 stock ROMs, OTAs, and recoveries thread. 2. My phone has 6.0.1 VDF-995NB02-UK10d stock ROM with stock recovery, therefore I need to install the stock recovery for B01-UK09b ^ This is where I am stuck. I can see you can install a stock recovery with TWRP, but I need root to install TWRP, but I can't get root because I'm on stock 6.0.1. How do I install TWRP or how do I downgrade my stock recovery so I can install the old stock UK 5.1.1 ? Any help would be much appreciated! :)
Guest nutsda Posted November 4, 2017 Report Posted November 4, 2017 Although I have not done this myself I believe people have success using the Turkish ROM to downgrade.

Thank you for your reply, @nutsda ! I am reluctant to install it because without having the right Recovery version. As far as I understand, I will be stuck in a boot loop if my recovery is not the right for the ROM I'm installing. Does anyone know how I can find more details about my recovery? Many thanks! :)

Guest suzukibandit Posted March 5, 2019 Report Posted March 5, 2019 (edited) Backup anything you want too keep.Put this on your sd card.it will downgrade 6.0.1 to 5.1.1. Use your stock recovery and update from sd card. Hold power button and vol up when you power on the phone. After reboot you can pick your language. 1)http://www.mediafire.com/file/mr2mdg3oi7whw3c/update.zip/file 2) kingroot. may take a few tries. 3)install rashr from the play store Download this twrp 4)https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591000424952165 Tap on your downloaded twrp. Rashr will open .Choose recovery. All done. Edited March 5, 2019 by suzukibandit
