Guest Spen Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 two thing i really miss from my t68 and seem quite simple are 1. Countdown timer 2. An alarm clock that you can set which days you want it to go off. At the moment i have a reminder set for every weekday morning. and of course pictures for contacts ..Is it a phone..
Guest predator Posted February 24, 2003 Report Posted February 24, 2003 One thing I found very useful on the Sony Z5 was that you could set it to turn itself off at a set time! This would be a great way of saving the battery overnight!
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 Seems that someone's already working on a caller-pic app: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=3862 See lutzh's post. I'll go with Shire's suggestion above, a full-featured media player would be very nice to have...
Guest HelloDave Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 A decent (dare I say it, even scientific?) calculator? The standard one is verrrry basic, and it's a nice easy app to start with. I'm starting to write one, but I have to learn Windows programming at the same time, so I might be a while! :)
Guest yatpeak Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 decent mp3 player gets my vote, would love to be able to create playlists and be able to fastforward through tracks. There's already a divx player, doesn't that cover all of the above requests? Or doesn't it play MP3s? Thanks, Wyatt
Guest Jedra Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I know this is dead boring, but if someone could get the phone to be able to send Business Cards via SMS then that would be excellent. Only being able to 'beam' them is about as much use as a chocolate teapot!! I don't know if this is possible, but enabling the phone to play polyphonic ring tones would also be cool !!
Guest fraser Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 The guy behind the DivX player has stated that it's probably going to be the last version he works on. We're going to need someone to continue this work! yatpeak, the current DivX player doesn't play mp3s. It would be great if it could also play Windows Media format files, as well as mpeg. If it did all that, the in-built media player would be redundant.
Guest stehendo Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 The Divx program does play mp3 and you can fast forward/rewind through tracks, however there is no playlist support. If somebody could continue the work then that would be fantastic.
Guest pibrahim Posted February 25, 2003 Report Posted February 25, 2003 I'm sure there's plenty of other people out there who could add playlist support to the current DivX player, its probably nothing major. If the original poster's offering to code an application from the ground up, we might as well get something brand new, not one extra feature to a multimedia player thats already infinitely better than WMP.
Guest Ramonxiu Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 Hello. I've been using organizer to manager my accounts for many years. Now I am very glad to see you are here to help us. So if you could develop S/W to sync with organizer with SPV, it is highly appreciated.
Guest morpheus2702 Posted August 19, 2003 Report Posted August 19, 2003 I know these exist in some convoluted fashion, but something like: Word Excel Acrobat AvantGo
Guest yoos Posted August 20, 2003 Report Posted August 20, 2003 It would be very cool if there was a database program where the screen form(s) could be customized through a GUI on the PC. You could have checkboxes, radio buttons, look ups on fields, sorting criteria for displaying the records, and formats for the fields. Then you could save the forms on the SPV and enter the data in the SPV. Then.... It could be synced to a flat file on your PC... Then we could link the GUI form on the PC to the flat file so you could view and enter data on the PC as well... Then you could have forms to print the data also... The GUI on the PC part could be done in MS Access or something too maybe to make it quicker on development time (maybe I could help there?). This could be used for so many different purposes. I would use it for a food tracker recording the calories, fat, protein, and carbs eaten in a day. Also a workout tracker for what exercises I've done, weight, sets, etc. This could also be used for what Lucky requested to record insulin test results. The graphs could be done in MS Access as well.
