Guest westy1507 Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Hello all I'm having a spot of bother unlocking the phone using the SPVunlock prog. I've done evrything as per instructions from coolsmartphone.com, but it just stays on 0% no matter how long i wait! If it helps, i've de-certified the phone and updated using the french update. I'm running Windows ME. Any help chaps, greatly appreciated Westy
Guest jcinfo Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 For Win98 & Windows ME users, try to remove activesync , reboot. Now you can use the program for unlock your phone. After , re-install activsync.
Guest Kelso Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Hi! This is my first time to post... I am from the Philippines. This coming weekend I will be getting my Tanager and just like your case it will also be simlocked. Do you have an idea if this unlocking procedure will work on the Tanager? Thanks!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Welcome to the site :) Firstly It should work as the rom and os etc are basically the same. No one has really played with the tanager yet as the lucky few who have them were inlocked already. Have fun and let us know how you get on.
Guest bensy Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 How to remove the SIM LOCK... PERMANENTLY! Go to : http://www.smartphone.fr.fm/delock.htm Thanks to the author who want to stay anonymous ! ENJOY IT I have a tanager phone (Smart Amazing Phone) with bootloader 0.98, but the SPVunlock did not gave the Authorization code (0% all the time) I tried terminating wescomm, also tried disabling it using startup manager but still get the same result (0%) I am running win98SE I hope that the author of SPVUnlock (or someonelse) can help me, and the others who have the same problem--- perhaps a few tricks or a version of SPVunlock for win 98?... whatever, please help us thanks....
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 22, 2003 Report Posted March 22, 2003 Have you tried rebooting the PC? There have been reports of these USB progrAms needing or reboot after a failure ...
Guest pete1312 Posted March 23, 2003 Report Posted March 23, 2003 I personally gave up trying to do SIM Unlock using Win ME several weeks ago. I was getting nowhere. (Win 98 / 98SE are similarly causing problems). It may not be the answer you want to read, but I've recently upgraded both my PC's to XP Pro, and I then unlocked very easily following the original instructions. Having said that, I originally had no real desire to to unlock my SPV. I have an Orange SIM as supplied with the phone, and I'm happy with it. I may nevertheless possibly wish to buy/borrow a foreign SIM to use temporarily in the future, to save Roaming costs whilst abroad. I've never previously had a locked phone, and did not wish to become forever tied to Orange. I "invested" in Win XP Pro anyway, simply because I soon realised from reading most of the threads on this whole site that my own OS was fast becoming obsolete. (Orange UK Update being just one example)! I'm now (relatively) happy with my SPV, though admittedly a little poorer.
Guest son_of_thunder Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 excuse my ignorance as im a newbie but in order to do this do i need a orange sim in the phone to unlock it as i have purchased the phone with no sim card to start with and I would like to use my o2 sim but it is about 2 or 3 years old will this sim work? If not wheres the best place to get an up to date one?
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted March 28, 2003 Report Posted March 28, 2003 OK, it's getting late and this might just be me being dense: You purchased it with no SIM card yet it's still locked to Orange? How come? I thought Orange only sold SIM-free SPV's without cards - in which case you wouldn't need to unlock it anyway.
Guest son_of_thunder Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 Well I bought the phone from a guy that was using an orange sim and its still locked to orange
Guest mcwarre Posted March 31, 2003 Report Posted March 31, 2003 Son_of_Thunder Got it sorted out yet?
Guest Kelso Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 guys, pardon me for my ignorance... just got my tanager 3 days ago. i am in the process of unlocking my phone but i do not know how to restart my phone in bootloader mode. please give me a walk through on this subject. thanks a lot.
Guest laxxe Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 Hi! I get this error when trying to unlock a Orange SPV. I've unlocked alot, only this one makes trouble: Retrieving SPV Unlock Code : 66 %- Invalid code - Aborting It has bootloader 0.95 Any ideas?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 Laxxe please try not to cross post as you had already started a topic in main
Guest laxxe Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 Well, as you see in my first thread, a guy says I should look in this thread - since other people have had this problem...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 What I forgot to add was please could you give a link to your original post if you do crosspost, I have done it for you in my last post. This is a better place for the topic. Sorry for not making myself clearer
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted April 2, 2003 Report Posted April 2, 2003 It has bootloader 0.95Â Any ideas? Bootloader 0.95 has been known to give problems whilst unlocking. You need to up/downgrade (i.e. 0.91, 0.93 or 0.98 ) it in order to sort it.
Guest mpak Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Hi I just bought a locked SPV from UK, but somebody told me that i must be into home network(orange-UK)to unlock it via the instructions that http://www.smartphone.fr.fm/delock.htm is giving. Guest Firaas Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Hi I just bought a locked SPV from UK, but somebody told me that i must be into home network(orange-UK)to unlock it via the instructions that http://www.smartphone.fr.fm/delock.htm is giving. Now im waiting to deliver it, u think i got to send it back to uk again? thanks thanasis You don't need to boot it into the main bit to get to simunlock, so you don't need it to be on the home network.
Guest ejoya Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 hi... guys.. if i unlock my phone.. can i relock it? if yes how? i want to relock my phone for warranty purposes.. thanks
Guest Will Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 not as far as I am aware, the simlock cannot be reversed :? Will
Guest ejoya Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 oh well ;) ... how about the decertify thing? can i recertify it? thanks
Guest Will Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 You can remove the decertify, if you did it the 'file edit and copy' way: simply perform a hard reset, see the thread in here for a walkthrough. Otherwise you can revisit the OTA orange site, and select 'lock' Will
Guest ejoya Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 thanks... i hope someone can create a software to relock the phone again.. coz here.. the warranty will be void if it is unlock..
