Guest amo Posted November 28, 2002 Report Posted November 28, 2002 The SPV isn't just for "normal" users though is it? At the moment, its a niche product aimed at a particular market. So who cares what the "normal users" say. Obviously if the phone was marketed for them, they'd have a right to complain but its not, so ha!
Guest (MDS) Posted November 28, 2002 Report Posted November 28, 2002 so, then back to the unlocking issue... are there any news on keygen or anything like that, my locked spv is on its way and i have to know the way to unlock it from the US otherwise i might have to cancel my order before its too late, before i end up with a paperweight worth 500 bucks... please, someone help.... :!: :!:
Guest alanclose Posted November 29, 2002 Report Posted November 29, 2002 I'm willing to pay $850 for it if it's unlocked. Hopefully he can get one for me. John You can get it on Virgin OVP for £260 and then presumably get orange to unlock it for £20 quid as you don't have a contract to pay of.

TIA :D Orange will match the price plans of other networks (OVP). Virgin don't make you sign a 12 month contract - you pay more for the phone but you are free to go at any time. Orange will let you buy a phone in the same way if you purchase it under the Virgin OVP scheme. I am assuming that orange will unlock it straight away with out the need to pay additional fees above the £20 they normally charge. Check this with Orange though - don't take my word on it. (anyone on the forum form orange?)
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 29, 2002 Report Posted November 29, 2002 I was under the impression a SPV on Orange OVP is still over £300, plus unlocking, and you still need to pass the Orange Credit Check (i.e. be UK resident)? P

P www.mobiles.co.uk - £ 259.99 including VAT and P&P + £20 to unlock? not sure about the credit check
Guest (MDS) Posted November 29, 2002 Report Posted November 29, 2002 i have 2 problems with that.... if i proceed to order that phone it says there "NOTE: You have chosen a phone that is subject to 12 month contract" ... thats one problem (so, how do i work around it??) second problem is that i am in the US and i have no physical access to any orange store at all... therefore i will not only be unable to order the phone but most importantly pass the credit thing... i can pass it in america no problem, but not uk.... so, it gets me thinking, what should i do?? is anyone willing to help me, and pick it up without a contract... keep the sim, get the phone unlocked and send it to me??? i can pay up to 570 us dollars, so i would appreciate if anyone could help me out on this.... thanx in advance...
