Guest MBoden Posted April 19, 2003 Report Posted April 19, 2003 That shouldn't matter, delayed sending has been disabled in the first version, they should go straight through. Do you have the same problem from the web interface ? MBoden
Guest ubergeek Posted April 19, 2003 Report Posted April 19, 2003 This sounds like a network problem - we've checked all our code and it's fine. The server time shouldn't effect it, unless your mobile phone operator is for some reason interpreting the message time as a delivery time? We'll keep looking into it, but our messages are sending perfectly.
Guest bdmoore Posted April 19, 2003 Report Posted April 19, 2003 Could someone post the cab file so the app can be downloaded straight onto the SPV? Can't get to a pc at the mo... Thanks!
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted April 19, 2003 Report Posted April 19, 2003 Well I've only tested it a couple of times .. (I've run out of points!!!) - but it seems to work just fine on my phone *cheer*! Anyway of buying credits in a near future!?
Guest adam Posted April 19, 2003 Report Posted April 19, 2003 had to do a phone reboot, it subsiquently comes up with a shortcut error, cant find the file etc Same problem. Installed and shortcut doesn't work, that goes for phone or sd. Created my own shortcuts, and they didn't work either.
Guest MBoden Posted April 19, 2003 Report Posted April 19, 2003 Adam > could you try open the contacts before you start the app ?
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted April 19, 2003 Report Posted April 19, 2003 Before I install this, is the 1 hour delay fixed? I assume that you have to specify the destination server with a delivery time, and the app sends the current time, which is 1 hour before South Africa on a UK phone, hence the delay. I'm guessing MBoden is 1 hour ahead of us in the DK time zone and so didn't spot it...? ;) P
Guest Moony1234 Posted April 19, 2003 Report Posted April 19, 2003 i think u hit the nail on the head paul ;)
Guest JabbaTheSlut Posted April 19, 2003 Report Posted April 19, 2003 Adam > could you try open the contacts before you start the app ? That solved my problem ;) as for the 1 hour delay, its not affected me at all, i`m in the UK Jabba
Guest JabbaTheSlut Posted April 19, 2003 Report Posted April 19, 2003 COuld you shed light on this problem thats just developed "Network error prevents sending - codeERR:1" Thanks Jabba Edit:Am able to get GPRS coverage fine on HTTP
Guest ajb3000 Posted April 19, 2003 Report Posted April 19, 2003 there is no one hour delay, there never was. anything saying otherwise is purely coincidence. its just like sending an sms from south africa to the uk, it doesn't delay it an hour, just the sent time is one hour ahead.
Guest funkmaster Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 just got in.. now i might have had a few, ive read this fully, and im gettin totally different problems to u guys.. 1) takes proper ages to do that twirly loading thing 2)"Error: Could not establish GPRS Connection.Error Code -2147467259" 3)i select a number eg "James" and it decides i want to send it to "Aimee" now the first 2 are common i gather, but number 3?! hehe to be honest, im not bothered to use the web one.. seems fine enough, however an app would be easier ;)
Guest MBoden Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Funkmaster > all your problems have been reported multiple times  1) proper ages = 60 seconds = the time it waits for the GPRS connection to be established, if it can't establish a GPRS connection then it times out after 60 seconds. Have you changed the setup for Internet Connection in settings ? or does it still read "Internet GPRS" 2) "could not establish GPRS connection" means just that, see above 3) you cant use filtering and/or the search function, blame microsoft :-( MBoden
Guest fozzie Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 3) you cant use filtering and/or the search function, blame microsoft :-( MBoden I'm able to use filtering. After pressing the first few letters of my contact to narrow down the list, I press the action key on the required person. Then I press the 'backup' key to get back to the list of contacts then 'menu' & finally 'PlanusSMS'. This works most of the time ;) The only inconsistency seems to be after pressing the 'backup' key. Sometimes it takes you back to the full list of contacts and not the filtered list. It seems to bear some relation to how many keys you have pressed to narrow down the list of contacts, but it is not always the same amount of key presses?! I also had the same problem with the PlanusSMS shortcut not working/target filename not found. Running the contacts app, as suggested, fixed this. This also needs to be done after a soft reset. Finally a question - is there any way to get the sender ID to appear on the sent SMS in the +44xxxxxxxxxx format? I can get it to appear as 07xxxxxxxxx or 44xxxxxxxxxxx but not with the '+'. Many thanks and keep up the good work with this app & the service :)
Guest ajb3000 Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 the sender id thing is due to limitations of the recipient network. some only allow 11 characters, some don't support alphanumeric etc.
Guest EMGenius Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 RIght, i uninstalled a load of other stuff from my phne which was prob why it was running like a dog - maybe it wasn't all planus's fault after all! (re: previous post in this group). I have just re-installed though and i couldn't send a message, no matter how many times i tried: just said cant connect. So i thought that i would check that i could connect to the net: i could. I went back into planus and tried sending the message again and it worked first try!!! (sent anyway - not recieved it yet - i will keep you posted!) It seems that after installing the app, you have to connect to the net in IE before planus can connect to send a message. Seems like you need to 'show planus how to connect'. Am i stating the obvious here? has anyone else noticed this? Could be a little bug - not that important, but worth noting by planus if this is the case. Cheers EMG
Guest Rusty Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Hi, downloaded the app and installed today, however i am having 1 minor problem with it. I can start and run the application fine, as long as i type the recipients number in the ´To:` box manually. However, if i press the action button in the ´To:` box, it takes me to my contact list, i scroll down to whichever one i want, but i cannot select it......all that happens when i try and select the contact is that it takes me into the field where you see all the contacts details. If i subsequently select a number from in there, all it does is try and dial it! Now if i try and use the back button to get back to the SMS app, it just takes me back to the homescreen. Sorry if this has been brought up previously, i have had a good look through the last 8 pages or so for an answer, but couldn't see one, also i'm surfing on my SPV which doesn't help. Regards Rusty
Guest EMGenius Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 when you select the person you have to click menu>Planus SMS and it will put it in the to field.
Guest ajb3000 Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 rusty, when you scroll to the name of the cantact you want to text, press the menu button and select planus sms.
Guest EMGenius Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Just got my test text - in just over 20 mins - not an hour as previously noted. The time now (according to phone) is 13.35, but the time on the text says 13:52 - strange?! though 20 mins is better than an hour, it is not as good as a normal text which gets sent in a couple of mins usually, mind you it could be orange and not planus that is being slow, so i wont complain! The time thing is confusing though! EMG
Guest Rusty Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Thanks ;) knew it'd be me being stupid
Guest Rusty Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 By the way, just thought i'd add, when i sent a test message this morning, it took only a matter of seconds to arrive. Rusty
Guest MoRFLeZ Posted April 20, 2003 Report Posted April 20, 2003 Yeah .. the few texts I've sent also arrive within seconds... now all I need is for my stOpid PayPal to work .. so I can get more credits *drool*
