Guest asif @ planus Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Right, got a seperate forum for Planus now, so feel free to start new threads instead of carrying on with this one. Regards Asif
Guest TSCRYPTO Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Is the sms app available for d/l in the locked post above free of the bugs that have been reported over the last few days?
Guest ajb3000 Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 it's the same version thats on one of the pages in this thread, we have still not found any definate bugs, the main problems people have been having are either due to the API or GPRS, not the app.
Guest TSCRYPTO Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Have just tried the app again. 1. Installed app. 2. Tested PIE - web browsing seems OK 3. Input my user details to app (Name / Login etc) 4. Couldnt see option for planus in contacts, so soft reset. 5. Re-input pers. details to app. 6. Sent SMS - got message: "Couldnt connect to server". 7. Established GPRS connection to website. 8. Sent SMS - got message "invalid password" 9. Changed my password to lowercase - SMS sent!!! 10. Killed GPRS connection to website and tried sending another sms - SMS sent!!! (and arrived in about 5 seconds). 11. Sent third sms - went OK. 12. Checked web browsing (just to be on the safe side) - seems OK It seems that the login page on the website does not have a requirement for case sensitivity for passwords, but the application does!!! Well, it seems OK now ;) Will continue using it and of course, report any problems here.
Guest Rusty Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Hi, Sorry if i'm being thick again, but i'm having another small problem with the app. When i select a contact to send my text to, by browsing my contacts list and then selecting 'PlanusSMS' from the menu, the text will never send, but instead gives me an error - 'Network error prevents sending - codeERR: 105' Looking through this post it would appear that this error is caused by having a + in front of your phone numbers, which all mine have. However i am also lead to believe that +44 instead of 01 is necessary in front of all numbers on the SPV, otherwise the caller display function does not work for number that you have in memory???????? If this is the case, how can i get the Planus app to work properly, or is it simply that the SPV only requires the 44 without the +. TIA Rusty
Guest Rusty Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Hmmmmmmmm, just tested this myself and it definitely seems to require the + in front of the 44. This being the case, how can i get the planus app to accept my contacts? Rusyt
Guest ajb3000 Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 the planus app will produce that error if the recipients number is invalid, I'm guessing you have spaces in you contacts phone numbers? If you remove the spaces it will work fine. The 'updated' app will not have this issue.
Guest Rusty Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Ah, that's it then ;) someone did an app a while ago that automatically put the +44 in front of all contact numbers, only trouble is it put a space in too , oh well, suppose i'll have to go through them all and remove the spaces!! Thanks for the quick reply Rusty
Guest ajb3000 Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 if you haven't changed all your contacts yet, v1.1 which is online now will send correctly with spaces and characters in the numbers.
Guest Rusty Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 Mwahahaah ;) was just going to do it, glad i checked now :)
Guest strathclydezero Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 I can't connect, get an error code. Confirmed that GPRS didn't work then phoned up orange to moan. I was told that most of the country is down but that they are 'working on it'. Must be like the roads, always work on them during the holidays.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 21, 2003 Report Posted April 21, 2003 GPRS is working fine my end. I must be lucky judging by the amount of bitching about GPRS on the forum, i've never had ~any~ problems with my GPRS. Except for my desk at work, which seems to be the one GPRS dead spot in the entire country...
Guest strathclydezero Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 One small niggle. If you close your contacts in taskmanager, but leave the Planus app open then when you click in the To: box nothing happens.
Guest fozzie Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 "As designed" I think will be the cry. The Planus app needs the Contacts app to be running to access your contacts.
Guest MBoden Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 "Dear Ford motor company, i have a slight problem with the car i recently purchased, if i remove all four wheels it won't drive anymore ?" ;) Off course you can break the program if you sabotage it , i'll look for a solution though MBoden
Guest fozzie Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Can you get it to quit the Contact app when you quit the Planus app?
Guest MBoden Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 No , but the other way around might be smarter the fun thing is that you arent allowed to quit programs on Smartphone OS , if your program have a quit menu item you wont get the "Designed for Microsoft smartphone" Logo , the OS tells your program when to quit, and that is when it needs the memory for something else f*cked up if you ask me MBoden
Guest fozzie Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 Agreed and understood! How about taking you back to the Home Screen after quiting Planus (I was going to say minimise the contacts app - doh - although the effect is the same!)?
