Guest terminater2_uk Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 i'm confused, again!!! do i run usbterm on pc or spv? on pc i get the window(cannot open terminal handle), on spv i get access denied or no open command
Guest terminater2_uk Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 tried reboot, same thing happens. dos window opens saying "cannot open terminal handle" then closes immediately
Guest Richie M Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Ooo USBTerm my favourite subject ;) "Cannot open terminal handle" is a wierd one, dunno why it happens some time. Disconnect your SPV from the cradle/usb, open Task Manager on PC, make sure wcescomm.exe is not running, kill USBTerm process, close the command prompt, reconnect the SPV and try again. Oh, just realised you said dos window opens saying "cannot open terminal handle" then closes immediately your not trying to run USBTerm by Double-Clicking it are you? It needs to be run from a command prompt. Good luck :)
Guest terminater2_uk Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 a command prompt? ummm??????????
Guest Syvwlch Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 Click on the Start Menu, go to Programs>Accessories, and click on Command Prompt. You should get a DOS-like interface. Know your way around DOS?
Guest Bazz Posted March 10, 2003 Report Posted March 10, 2003 You shocked at having to use a command prompt or just asking what that means? Asumming it's the latter and I'm not about to really insult you: "Start->Run..." and type "cmd" (or sometimes "command", depending what version of Windows you are running). You may also have a "Command Prompt" option somewhere in your windows menu. You'll be given a DOS prompt. Type in the program name (usbterm?) and hit return. You might have to type the full path if windows can't find it: C:windowsprogram filesusbterm.exe Welcome back to the 80s... Barry
Guest terminater2_uk Posted March 11, 2003 Report Posted March 11, 2003 insult me all you want, i was pissed through the eighties and havent a clue about dos. just did what you said and all i get is cannot open terminal handle
