Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Hehe, good to have you on board jcat to set things straight. For the disbelievers a quote from another thread: Correlation != causation. 100% of drug addicts drank milk as a baby. Doesn't mean anything though.
Guest Hax Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Well, just to throw in my two-cents worth (not much good in this country anyway!) I installed the update that addresses the keyboard driver problem for no reason other than in the hope that an SMS character counter might have been smuggled in there too - I don't (yet) own one of these keyboards. However, I most certainly have *not* noticed that the performance of my battery has been affected since installing the update - I still get the same crappy battery life of more-or-less two days. Hax

Guest mattbrown Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 where can the keyboard update be d/loaded from to update the rom to 1.3.7???
Guest Simon Desser Posted April 23, 2003 Report Posted April 23, 2003 Just run Orange Update on your phone and it's there. Cheers Simon.
Guest smartphone-web.com Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 I've tried to load the Update over Orange Update (from Germany) but all i found was backgrounds und ringtones. Where can i get the update? I realy want to use my keyboard!
Guest jcat Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Unfortunately only the UK version of the driver for the UK keyboard is currently available, and is only available from the UK Orange Update site so it won't appear if you try Orange Update form Germany. Currently the driver is only distributable under the watchful eye of Orange, so it has not been made publicly available as such. Sorry  but hopefully it won't be too much longer until it's available in other coutries as well. jcat
Guest Hax Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 Currently the driver is only distributable under the watchful eye of Orange, so it has not been made publicly available as such. "as such"? So, has it leaked out somewhere then? Just curious ;) Hax
Guest jcat Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 No, all I meant was that it's publicly available to anyone in the uk with an SPV. Just to clarify slightly, this update is a combined ROM update and driver installer, Orange own the ROM update and are therefore the only ones that can distribute it. We own the basic driver, but without the ROM update the driver is useless anyway. Sorry... Cheers, jcat
Guest Simon Desser Posted April 24, 2003 Report Posted April 24, 2003 After starting this thread, I would like to now say, that any changes in battery life after running this update, is purely coincidental (in my opinion) and I've changed the subject title accordingly. Last night, I "re-updated" to 1.3.7, and whilst I still don't know what the heck is going on with my battery, today, my battery life seems better than ever :!: :?:
