Guest StarfireCT Posted November 2, 2003 Report Posted November 2, 2003 I've seen a number of posts for T-Mobile USA's GPRS (T-Zones and T-Internet) settings for the SPV and MPx200. Anyone have the CSD/GSM settings? I've had partial success with the settings below, actually - I get certain pages (like Google's WAP home page) but not everything works (like performing a search on Google) so I was wondering if anyone had a good set of settings. Cheers, Sf DIAL-UP CONNECTIONS: Name: CSD Connects to: The Internet Country Code: 1 Area code: 913 Phone number: 2440821 User Name: wap Password: Domain: DATA CONNECTIONS: Internet Connection: CSD Work Connection: None Available WAP Connection: CSD Secure WAP Connection: None Available PROXY CONNECTIONS: Name: CSD Connects From: The Internet Connects To: WAP Network Proxy (name:port): 010.168.200.050 Type: WAP User name: wap Password: INTERNET EXPLORER > MENU > OPTIONS > CONNECTIONS: Automatically Detect Settings: (checked) Select Network: The Internet
Guest betoveenn Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 help, in my Mio 8380, when I tried to get in the internet conection, there was an error, that saids "unable to connect. verify you have network coverage and try again", What happen I supouse that settings are correct and the gprs of my zone are fine, I am from Mexico
Guest martin Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 Hello betoveenn Was the internet connection working on the mio 8380 before you started having this error or is this the first time you have tried connecting ? Who is the network provider ?
Guest StarfireCT Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 Update on CSD on T-Mobile: I don't need the settings - forgot that the SmartPhone uses standard Windows dialup networking. I'm now using a Dial-Up Connection to a regular ISP which uses the CSD connection method (and air time minutes) and by passes the T-Mobile WAP gateway entirely. Cheers!
Guest martin Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 StarfireCT I'm glad you found what you where looking for :) We have a quite a few people who use a regular GSM dialup to an ISP for internet access but it is always advisable to check with the network provider that the dialup number itself can be used as part of any inclusive minutes. Do you know what the standard call charges are for using this dialup and how does T-mobile categorise this number. Just make sure that you can't be caught out with any surprising bills at the end of the month
Guest betoveenn Posted November 6, 2003 Report Posted November 6, 2003 hi martin, yes this is the first time that i tried to connect to the internet, the networck is telcel, mexico
Guest martin Posted November 7, 2003 Report Posted November 7, 2003 betoveenn I did a bit of searching and this should hopefully be what is needed to setup gprs for Telcel. First make sure you have the centre G on your phone. There are two APN's (Access Point Names) for Telcel GPRS which are wap.itelcel.com and internet.itelcel.com. You will probably already have the WAP APN but you might have to ask Telcel to activate the internet APN for you. http://(address) will use the Internet Connection wsp://(address) will use the WAP Connection Try the following data and then test the connections. Good Luck :) Telcel Create GPRS connection. (internet) Description: Telcel WEB Connects to: The Internet Access point: internet.itelcel.com User name: webgprs Password: webgprs2002 Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0 Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0 IP address: (blank) Create proxy connection Description: Telcel proxy Connects from: The Internet Connects to: WAP network Proxy (name:port): 148.233.151.240 Type: WAP Username: blank Password: blank Create GPRS connection. Guest betoveenn Posted November 7, 2003 Report Posted November 7, 2003 hi martin, thnx for help me. what is the centre G, and i configure my phone as you said but there is the same message, unable to connect. verify you have network coverage and try again, where is the error, or i should be call telcel to active the APN.
Guest martin Posted November 7, 2003 Report Posted November 7, 2003 betoveen The top centre G will show on the main screen if GPRS has been activated on your account and you are successfully atttached to the GPRS network. Have a look at these screens shots http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=94637 If you are not seeing this then speak to your network provider and ask for GPRS to be activated with both WAP and Internet services.
Guest betoveenn Posted November 7, 2003 Report Posted November 7, 2003 ok thnx, i dont see it I will call telcel to activate, thnx a lot.
Guest betoveenn Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 hi martin I have been connected susccesfull, but not in GRPS connecttion in CSD connecttion, that are the problem, thnx.
Guest schildy Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 I've tried numerous times to put the O2 settings in, everythig seems fine, but when I connect it comes back "unable to place call" On re-checking my typing, I notice that the password appears to double up, it seems like password is in there twice. No matter what I do to get rid of it it stills comes back...any suggestions...PLEASE!
Guest martin Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Schildy It's OK. Each password character is meant to produce a double asterisk. It's the same on your PC Internet explorer. Try deleting ALL existing CSD, proxy and GPRS connections and re-inputing them. Are you using the O2 settings from page2 of this topic ? What type of account do you have ? Posted from my SmartPhone!
Guest schildy Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 thanks for that, I was getting totally confused. I am switching between an orange contract and my works O2, eventually keeping it on the O2 but until I get the Internet access working I am loathe to take off the orange stuff, cause my mail and everything is working great when I put the orange sim back in. I'll try the settings again and see what happens.
Guest alamr Posted November 14, 2003 Report Posted November 14, 2003 Hi Everybody, Can anyone please help me. I live in Bangladesh and am using SAP phone. I am using Grameen Phone Network. Guest martin Posted November 22, 2003 Report Posted November 22, 2003 @ Edhunter I'm not too sure about this one so if you have any problems then try confirming the APN, IP, etc with Vodafone CS or extract the data from another phone type. Also check with Vodafone that you are subscribed to the internet (web browsing) service.
