Guest martin Posted April 22, 2003 Report Posted April 22, 2003 i dont see why im makin a gprs connection and then setting it as a wap connection and not an internet one (as desribed in that thread) im jus totally confused WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) is associated with WML (Wireless Markup Language) internet pages, and these were composed mainly of text. It allowed the early Nokia phones with those little tiny green screens to access the internet and download information. Obviously the phones were not able to display full HTML pages. You can access both HTML or WML pages through either a CSD (circuit switched data) 9.6K connection or via GPRS (General Packet Radio Services). CSD and GPRS are just different means of transferring data, circuit switched data and Packet switched data. You will need to setup two GPRS connections for the network. GPRS internet connection for HTML pages GPRS WAP connection for WML pages. (two settings required for two different access point names) The GPRS settings are dependent on whether you are contract or pre-pay. They are usually given different access point names. Does this help or have I confused you more ?

Both GPRS connections ARE created with 'Connects to: The Internet' but they have then been given different APN's (access point names).
