Guest Paul [MVP] Posted September 4, 2003 Report Posted September 4, 2003 All accounts activated :) On an aside, card processing is currently unavailable. 2Checkout.com have informed us: Dear Merchant, The following comment was added by the 2CheckOut Team, If you refer to our services overview page you will see that the service you are offering falls under "phone chat lines" and "Lottery,Raffles,Contest sites" These are services we do not support. Account sign-up is denied. Receive refund within 4 to 7 business days. [email protected] WTF? In doing this, they have closed the account, and the payments we had taken so far have disappeared. I am NOT happy! And my request for clarification is thus far unanswered. Watch this space, and in the meantime, PayPal payments are still welcome! Thanks for your support, Paul
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted September 5, 2003 Report Posted September 5, 2003 Sounds like Ebays blanket policy if they don't understand it or someone complains it's goodbye and la la la I can't hear you la la la
Guest davidhorn Posted September 5, 2003 Report Posted September 5, 2003 "]They accept Amex, and a number of other cards... P Yeah, but sadly only within the US and Canada. Those outside have to stick with VISA and Mastercard. They're pretty thorough as well with checking when you sign up - when I did I got a nasty email asking why I said I was in the UK but my IP address reported I was in Turkey. Took three emails to explain about satellite proxies...
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted September 5, 2003 Report Posted September 5, 2003 2Checkout have corrected their error, after I spoke to them on the phone, so card payments are now back online :) P
Guest blewer Posted September 7, 2003 Report Posted September 7, 2003 Just signed up. I'll wait for reply!!! Cheers :) Even put Paul down as my referrer, he needs some recognition
Guest davidhorn Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 I get a 404 when I try to access any secure area of their site - is it me?
Guest davidhorn Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 Yeah, apparently they've been suffering from a DoS attack - doesn't instill confidence though that an ecommerce firm should suffer even the slightest problem from such an attack. Even something as bland as indiscriminantly banning IP addresses should have kept them running. Or, having another server running with a separate IP address behind a firewall that they can switch to.

Guest Paul [MVP] Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 Your account is now activated! All accounts are activated manually unfortunately, as an anti-fraud measure, and this can sometimes result in a slight delay (e.g. if i'm asleep!) I do my best to ensure all accounts are activated withing 24 hours, although it is more normally the case of immediately during the day, or straight away the following morning if at night :) P
Guest cyrilthefish Posted October 20, 2003 Report Posted October 20, 2003 hehehe thanks paul! blame my semi-drunken impatientness  *runs away screaming from PsychoDave* :)
