Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 I've watched a few of the videos now, but does anybody else thing the music it plain awful?!! Esp on the trailer where it starts on the little wooden bridge and ends with the blue tenticle?
Guest siu99spj Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Hhhmmmm, denied access to the BlueYonder sites :? . Maybe if I try at home it will be different. Anyways, I don't know if BlueYonder has this or not but check here: Half-Life 2 Video (BIG) But I warn you now, this is ONLY for those on Broadband, its a 500MB  download! But what do you expect for 25mins at DVD quality?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 I got that in a few minutes at work (30 in the queue), PC here is too crap to play it though :/ Got ohme at 5ish, 600 odd people in the queue, still waiting when i went to bed :) Now to find a spare CD-R...
Guest siu99spj Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 The guys watching over us at work might not take too kindly to 500MB downloads :) However, having just 'hacked' through the proxy to get back my net access (Someone turned it off) I might be in trouble anyways. But, I'll get it at home where I can watch it with decent screen size and speakers.
Guest ClintEastman Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Still waiting to see if that tech demo was leaked! Valve are checking it out at the mo.... Interesting.... :)
Guest siu99spj Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Mono: YIPE!! Me and my big mouth  Ah well, at least you haven't heard about my top secret plans to take over the world with penguins
Guest siu99spj Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 Oh wait, this is a public forum  Damn, damn, damn, damn! Have to find another way...
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 I've not seen any leaked stuff yet. but will keep looking.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 I'm getting a nice 90k+ download speed :)
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 90k on what? The video or the Leaked Build?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 video, but it's now dropped to 61 :( but that's still over 100MB so far :)
Guest Mr_Protozoa Posted May 20, 2003 Report Posted May 20, 2003 I was getting 1.6Mb/sec at uni the other day. Was wonderfull.
Guest siu99spj Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 I'm still waiting for BT to fix my phone line  Have to use Modaco on phone or at work.
Guest SirGaz Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Couldn't download the large (500Mb) file last night at all, too many users I think. Managed to get the official video though (16Mb) and although the video quality isn't superb the impression I get is that this game will rock. Definately need to upgrade the PC though.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 Just watched it here at work, trill was messing with Quicktime apparently. It looks amazing, no arguement. I can't wait :)
Guest ClintEastman Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 GameSpot - 9 individual files ranging from 9 - 49MB - subscribers (bygames mirror) GameSpy - single 506MB download - subscribers Fileshack - single 628MB download - subscribers
Guest idavid Posted May 29, 2003 Report Posted May 29, 2003 wow.... just downloaded the big one. this game looks amazing. the strider smashing up the buildings, the zombies walking into the rotating blades. the testing scene with the cctv camera. i cannot wait. might put together a little jar and start saving for a computer that isnt a laptop with no graphics card (which is what i currently have)! the game actually makes must scifi films look pathetically dated
Guest mike-oh Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 (edited) Just performing mouth to mouth on this thread.... (caution this post contains spoilers and links to spoilers) Wow! What a game! The storyline is a bit vague when compared to the first one, but i've found a few sites that fill in (or at least attempt to) the missing bits. http://www.hlfallout.net/articles.php/60/1/ and a few clickys around on there will give you the background. Also the water effects are simply jaw dropping, i might get round to posting some screen shots later. Favourite bit was when the helicopter was chasing me in the air boat! With the music going and bombs going off to the left and right of me, i was grinning like the Cheshsire Cat! Incedentally, if anyone doubts the power of the HL2 engine then check this music video out with the G man as the lead singer (also contains spoilers)! http://www.machinima.org/paul_blog/2005/03...een-take-3.html Mike Edited June 15, 2005 by mike-oh
Guest agent.m Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 You only just played it mate???? ;) What you think ??? better than doom 3??? Now that I finished it I cant be bothered playing it again. might have to find a trainer tool so I can go through my favourate levels again :D
Guest mike-oh Posted June 15, 2005 Report Posted June 15, 2005 Yes i have only just played it. I've been busy with uni work since it came out. Got my finals out of the way and purchased this; good thing is it's down in price to about £12 now! I don't think you need a trainer. If you start a new game you can start on any of the chapters! You can also use cheats if needs be to level skip. Better than D3 without a doubt. D3 is a one trick pony "oh look another scary dark corridor, i wonder what's going to happen down there?(!)". D3 is still v good though, HL2 just pips it though.
