Guest vijay555 Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Yup, just mitac and intel reference have camera for now i think. couple of others on the horizon, but Mitac is only one particularly close to production. Intel is great design concept tho, might be worth sticking it out till autumn/winter if you've already got an spv (SPV2  should also have built in camera, eta Winter) V ps. anyone want to answer the question of how much a Tanager costs?
Guest Brody Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 Thanks vijay555, as i asked earlier, how much does a Tanager cost???!!!!
Guest lutzh Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 ... i think i can deliver for around 500 euro + shipping (from germany)... cheers, lutz ps: i've made a little movie (wmv) but i dont know how to bring it on the site here - paul, can/want you help me?
Guest Brody Posted April 25, 2003 Report Posted April 25, 2003 To post a movie just add an attachment to your post and we'll all be able to download it but there is a file size limit and i dont recall what it is, sorry!:!: Anyone?
Guest lutzh Posted April 26, 2003 Report Posted April 26, 2003 hi brody, its too big (5 mb) to attach it. but its on mobilejoe under the news. Go here to see the video of the Tanager in action. the video shows the brightness and the speed of the menus. the Tanager is using German UI but i gues it doesnt matter... cheers, lutz
Guest dinoalbert Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Hi Im from the Philippines and yes, the Tanager rocks! I even gave up my 5-month old T68i for it. The Philippines is the first country where these baby was released last February. There's even a headset available for it now. In my country you can get the Tanager for free if you subscribe with a 1,335 Pesos monthly plan (dont know the exchange rate with your local currency) or you can get it for P13,000+ if you subscribe with plan P800 monthly plan. The thing is one cant buy the "unit" alone. You need to make a subcription (2-year contract) with the carrier Smart Philippines. The headphone costs P450.
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 Surely our £££ has a massive advantage on the "pesos" ?? Could we not be cashing in on a Tanager for buttons folks ?? SpaceCowboy
Guest mcfc2134 Posted April 29, 2003 Report Posted April 29, 2003 P13,000 is approx £154. Good price, but theres the 24 month contract with a company who you cant use in the UK! Tanager looks pretty smart though! Hopefully some may come on ebay cheaper over the next few weeks!
Guest Thurstan Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 Does the Tanager come with a cam like SPV? I want one so I can give my girlfriend my SPV then send her pics of me nekkid ;) (and vice versa lol)
Guest lutzh Posted April 30, 2003 Report Posted April 30, 2003 it comes with cam and it already has the ia photo and ia album on board (those from smart have it). so it makes it even easier to send her the pics. my experience is that the cam on the tanager works much faster (the click is still a little bit late but the picture is shot when you hit "capture" - thats important). if you get one and your girl gets the spv: dont send me your pics, only those from your girl.... cheers, lutz
Guest ppcsurfr Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 Congratulations! Enjoy your new Smart Amazing Phone. ppcsurfr
Guest ClintEastman Posted May 1, 2003 Report Posted May 1, 2003 So then ppcsurfr.... Whats the new O2 SmartPhone? You can tell me.... ;)
Guest pritos13 Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 The Tanager or Smart Amazing Phone (in the philippines) sells about P22,290 or $408.28 or 459.31 Euro. but SMART does not offer shipping abroad (i think). if you want to look at the website of SMART, this is the link : http://www.smart.com.ph/SMART/Catalog/Hand...azing+Phone.htm I'm planning of buying one this week ;) but getting a 512mb SDcard would be too expensive :) . know where i can buy a really cheap one? anyone selling a used 512mb SDcard really cheap?
Guest atai Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...&category=41350
Guest Simon Desser Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 I think he was asking where you can get a cheap 512mb card, not a Tanager?
Guest Aonz Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 Hi Paul, how about posting a pic of the SPV, Tanager and Compal together?
Guest Chris Edwards Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 I'm planning of buying one this week ;) but getting a 512mb SDcard would be too expensive :) . know where i can buy a really cheap one? anyone selling a used 512mb SDcard really cheap? How expensive are SD Cards over there? I just picked up a SanDisk 256mb SD card here in Canada for $104CDN, or about £45...
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 4, 2003 Report Posted May 4, 2003 Sounds about right, assuming you import them from America through eBay...
