Guest MoRFLeZ Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 *comf David* Where is your file located!?
Guest ambro Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 you have to remove the two reg keys that you put in the first place and then reinstall.. or change them to the new location of the program as in Storage CardProgram FilesPockettv ect
Guest The PocketTV Team Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 When you install from the CAB file on a clean phone, the CAB file should create all the keys. But if you created keys manually and previously run PocketTV, itwill not create the clean keys that it normally creates on its first run. So can probably fix that by going in PocketTV Menu and select Options > Files > File Association
Guest ambro Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 Options > Files > File Association feature does not always work as it says most of the time that its already linked to the program when its not at times. i had the same problem.. i manually changed the keys, because i installed it by accident on the phone instead of the storage card. when i reinstalled the program it still had the reg keys set to ipsm... when i tried using the file association feature then it still said that it was already linked together
Guest Vector Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 And the little tv symbol is not showing by the ice age.mpeg
Guest The PocketTV Team Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 1) Remove PocketTV (you can leave the Smart Explorer) 2) Re-install PocketTV (on the Storage Card) 3) Run PocketTV from the Home Programs menu 4) Select Menu > Options > File > File Associations If asked a question, say Yes. That should fix any registry problem.
Guest The PocketTV Team Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 And the little tv symbol is not showing by the ice age.mpeg   You may need to turn the phone off, then on in order to see the little icon.
Guest The PocketTV Team Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 Options > Files > File Association feature does not always work as it says most of the time that its already linked to the program when its not at times. i had the same problem.. i manually changed the keys, because i installed it by accident on the phone instead of the storage card. when i reinstalled the program it still had the reg keys set to ipsm... when i tried using the file association feature then it still said that it was already linked together That's because this option only sets the keys like .mpg like .mpeg for the file association. Thos are the keys that may be changed when you install another application (e.g. PocketDivX). The key pockettv_mpgfile is set by the CAB installer, so you should not move an application after you install it. Instead, you should remove it, and re-install it somewhere else, this way all the keys (several) created by the CAB installer will be updated correctly.
Guest ambro Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 if you still get the same problem after that then use this file after it resets the keys and directs the two keys to Storage CardProgram FilesPocketTVPocketTV.exeReg.zip
Guest mattat Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 OK - I used the CAB installer (this was the first time I've tried this program), and put the files on the storage card and I am now getting the file not found error. Any suggestions!
Guest ambro Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 yeah thats wot i did removed the files.... then i went to reinstall it again and it said do you want to remove the previous version and it carried on... then installed it to the storage card and it still had ipsm refrence there.. That's because this option only sets the keys like .mpg like .mpeg for the file association. Thos are the keys that may be changed when you install another application (e.g. PocketDivX). Guest The PocketTV Team Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 I had no problem installing PocketTV in the Phone (for testing), then removing it, then re-installing on the Storage Card. Just don't mess with the registry. If you created any keys, remove them. If you want to make a clean PocketTV installation, you should also remove the key HKCUSoftwareMpegTVPocketTV (note: if you remove it, you will have to re-register PocketTV to obtain a new registration key)
Guest The PocketTV Team Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 I received an email from [email protected] . When I tried to answer it, I got: : <<< 550 User unknown. Someone at MoDaCo must be loosing a lot of email :-)

Guest mattat Posted April 27, 2003 Report Posted April 27, 2003 Having installed the CAB on a clean phone and it not working (despite having rebooted phone), I then uninstalled Pocket TV and then reinstalled it - did the file association thing, tried to open the file - it didn't work - file not found, then rebooted and it still doesn't work - any further ideas?
