hhmm i'll have to look at it again Fozzie, sorry i must admit i didnt have chance to test it before uploading

Rusty; it installs to the phone by default  er i think you have to unload the old version first; select another homescreen and reboot the phone then try installing again :D again sorry i didn't have time to test

Rusty,

I'd do things in this order:

1. Select a Homescreen that doesn't use the alarm-plugin.

2. Use Remove Programs, to uninstall any alarm-plugins - the old one is listed as DJin alarm plugin (or something like that) and the new one is listed as Richie M alarm plugin.

3. Restart SPV.

4. Install new plugin - it doesn't ask where to install to so don't worry.

5. Select Homescreen that uses the Alarm plug-in.

All should be ok

Richie, does this version contain the lock-up fix?

Now uses COLOR_HOMEHIGHLIGHTEXT instead of COLOR_HIGHLIGHTTEXT

Hmm, you're gonna hate me for this Richie, but it doesn't use either.

Methinks you should get some early nights :D

 ok my bad

I had only quickly tested this and dont understand why it didn't work :?

Trouble is the SDK doesn't support COLOR_HOMEHIGHLIGHTTEXT so i had to write my own Private Header for it, but it doesnt appear to of worked

I'm really busy ATM so don't know when i'll sort this out :D

 Fozzie, can you post up the version that uses COLOR_HIGHLIGHTTEXT I PM'd you (if that version worked)

Sure. I'll post it in a couple of hours when I get back to the PC.

G'day guys. I've just downloaded and installed the latest alarm plug-in, but the phone says "Installation failed. The program or setting cannot be installed because it is not digitally signed with a trusted certificate."

What to do?

Decertify (Application Unlock) your phone by going to the Orange Unlock Webpage HERE

Assuming you have an Orange Smartphone.

I'm not with Orange though, and my phone isn't locked to anyone. I don't think I'd touch Orange with a bargepole anyway.

What kind of phone do you have? Is it Application Unlocked (De-Certed)? This is different than SIM-LOCKED.

Guest ozute

I've got a Qtek 7070 Smartphone. I'm not connected to a plan or anything, I just bought the phone outright, and I'm using a prepaid SIM.

Hmmm....I dont know anything about the Qtek's. I dont know if they are AppLocked or not out of the box.

I was good to recommend the alarm plugin and then know that you needed to unlock your phone...beyond that...I dont know. Better ask the experts on the Help and Advice forum.

Thank you very much for your help anyway, I really do appreciate it.

Guest Richie M

Ozute, yep you need to application unlock (de-cert) your phone.

Thanks guys, I appreciate your feedback. I'm not interested in putting stuff on my phone that hasn't been certified or whatever it needs so I'll just wait.

You'll be waiting a long time then :)

Earlier in this thread I posted (what I thought) was the correct version (using COLOR_HIGHLIGHTTEXT) of the plug-in. It wasn't. Unfortunately, I cannot find the .cab version of the correct version. I do however, have the correct .dll, which is posted below.

Richie - any chance you can repackage this up? Thanks.

Can anyone explain to me, briefly, why this thread is 9 pages long!? Why so much interest in the alarm plug-in? What exactly are folks trying to accomplish? I would normally read through the thread, but it's Monday and ain't had coffee yet

Guest fozzie

Because AFAIK, it's the only plugin that displays the alarm time on the Homescreen and gives you one click access to the Alarm settings page :)

I've posted elsewhere, but the version above posted by fozzie has a bug that requires battery removal if you don't exit the settings page. I'm not complaining, i'm happy with the older version until a clean version arrives, but Richie, how do you get to the date/time page in settings.exe?

Is there a dll or commandline you call, or do you just spoof the keypresses? I ask because i'd like to create a shortcut to use with Xbar.
