Guest Pagemakers Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 I just use the alarm time display of the plugin so my alarm time displays on the home screen and nothing more.
Guest Richie M Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 I've posted elsewhere, but the version above posted by fozzie has a bug that requires battery removal if you don't exit the settings page. I'm not complaining, i'm happy with the older version until a clean version arrives, but Richie, how do you get to the date/time page in settings.exe? Is there a dll or commandline you call, or do you just spoof the keypresses? I ask because i'd like to create a shortcut to use with Xbar. V Its basically a spoof of keypresses, which is why it locks up sometimes :) untill i find (or get the time to) another way of doing it.
Guest Speedy Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 I have just started using it recently and its working great for me. Richie please repack it with the dll by fozzie to complete it. cheers :)
Guest Tomas Kocanda Posted August 5, 2003 Report Posted August 5, 2003 Friends, may somebody post a simple way (for total idiots like me), step by step, how to install and manage this plugin? Thanks Tomas
Guest vijay555 Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 Richie, i've posted elsewhere that you can add new options to the Control Panel, ie your own control panels. So i'm using xbar with your plugin for one click access to my own alarm settings screen. http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...=88158&start=44 This way, you could package an installer to modify the control panel root xml and access that directly thru a shortcut, instead of spoofing the keypresses. Check the link above, it'll hopefully make more sense. Only problem for now is losing it on soft reset, but i think you should be able to store the xml in another directory so it's preserved after reboot, but still accessible thru a shortcut.. Anyway, i'm delerious. Check my example above. Should be straightforward. V
Guest Richie M Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 Cheers vijay555 :) i'll look into it. Speedy, will do :P Thomas, it is pretty simple - you install it and make sure your Homescreen is set to included sample and thats it! I've been away for a week so got some catching up to do, but hopefully i'll get chance this weekend to post a newly packaged version for those that want it and hopefully (doubtfull) i may even get chance to do some coding :o
Guest drblow Posted August 8, 2003 Report Posted August 8, 2003 Friends, may somebody post a simple way (for total idiots like me), step by step, how to install and manage this http://smartphone.MoDaCo.com/viewtopic.php?t=714>http://smartphone.MoDaCo.com/viewtopic.php?t=714>plug-in? Thanks Tomas HERE, HERE!! :)
Guest vijay555 Posted August 9, 2003 Report Posted August 9, 2003 Alarm Plugin - the earlier version: not the one above; personally i think the version above is a liability because it sometimes causes a hard crash, and given that i've now spent 12 hours trying to rebuild my rom, i would say, keep it vanilla! This version can't be clicked, just displays alarm time. [Check out my previous posts with Richie to use a custom control panel with Xbar for a safer version...] 1.Copy CAB file to smartphone. 2.Execute 3.Go to settings > homescreen and choose "AlarmPlug Test" 4.Hopefully you can smile! Optional: 5.Check out my skins on http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php...=67890&start=43 - both make good use of the plugin V [hope i'm not stepping on toes Richie!]alarmplugin.ARM.zip
Guest ffs78 Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 Hi there !! first of al: thanks to ya all for improving the SPV and its abilities.. I really missed the alarm-indicator on my homescreen (Damn, I hate it to got waked at 7am on saturdaymorning by forgetting to put the alarm off  !!) after reading this topic I decided yo install the non-clickable plug-in because my previous SPV died and I don't like hard crashes anymore  However, a clickable one would be much more convenient. Can anyone tell me if there's already a reliable one which I can use then??? kind regards - Nick
Guest fozzie Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 Hi and welcome to the forum :) The clickable version works fine for me. Never had a crash with it. Some people do get lock-ups with it because they don't exit the alarm setup page correctly, usually by pressing 'home' instead of 'done' twice. If you download the zip file I posted a few posts up and then overwrite the .dll on the phone with this one (in IPSMApplication DataHome), your alarm plug-in should now be clickable ;) (It's probably best if you select a homescreen that doesn't use the alarm plug-in before copying the .dll)
Guest Speedy Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 Once again i would like to remind richie M, that he promissed to repack the alarmplugin with the correct dll. Pleas do buddy! as a lot of us are still using it a lot :-) and by doing that it will be easier for future user to install it. cheers
Guest Richie M Posted September 10, 2003 Report Posted September 10, 2003 Better late than never eh guys? Right this just a repack of the clickable version with the orginal demo homescreen :D To be safe, either uninstall the version you have installed on your phone or change your homescreen to one that doesnt use the Alarm plug-in and reboot the phone. And then install vis the CAB in the normal way :) Longhorn M5 homescreen users please do not install this version as it will look pants ;)alarmplug.CAB
Guest Speedy Posted September 11, 2003 Report Posted September 11, 2003 And perfect when you edit : Updated 11/09-03 he he, giving you a hard time.... i know :)
Guest DulcimeR Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 Damn!!! I'm really getting confused in here  Now, what I've understand there is two different types of the alarm plugin, One is clickable and One is not. Correct me if I'm wrong! The one wich is clickable will get you through all menus directly to the "Time & Date" screen. And the not clickable version will just show the alarm time. And also what I've understand, the not clickable version also is the most stable version because of the problems with the menu to get to the Time & Date screen. If I'm right, then I want the not clickable version that is most stable. But where the hell can I find it. I'm just beeing confused in here with all files uppgrades and repacks and .dlls and whatever ;) So could someone plz post the most stable Not clickable version here  Another question, is there anyway you can have the time, date and alarm time on the same line? If so, how do I do that?
Guest yoos Posted October 3, 2003 Report Posted October 3, 2003 I don't have the non clickable one, but I have been using the latest clickable one Richie posted in this thread (just up a few posts from here). I would definitely recommend it!! You just have to make sure you don't leave the settings menu up... Just click out of this menu by hitting done (don't hit the home key or change apps using XBar). I have personally found that if you do this you don't have any issues... It's great!!!!

I'm trying to do my own homescreen and I want to use this plugin on it. And then I dont want to have some plugin which could make the phone to crash. Personaly I prefer to have a stable phone. Thats why I want the most stable version until Richie solve the chrash bug. Hope you understand my point!

  Hope you understand my point! The version on this page (page 10) is as stable as it gets, the problems people had with it locking up the phone are down to user error :? as i've explained before the way it spoofs keypresses is the only way, afaik, you can access the Date & Time settings - therefore its down to users using the plug-in as intended ;) I havent had chance to work on this for ages, as i've been concentrating on game developments - but i will probably have a go at a new version in the future (I wouldnt hold your breath tho ). At the end of the day this does its job, but is a bit rough around the edges :D
Guest DulcimeR Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 Hey Richi! I'm only wonder if you mayby could do me a favour? I really like your alarm plugin and really find it usefull. But I would like it without the shortcut to the settings window. Like, you can't click on it, or not even mark it. That would be really nice if you got time to do that for me :)
Guest fozzie Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 But I would like it without the shortcut to the settings window. Like, you can't click on it, or not even mark it. The version in the very first post of this thread is not clickable :)
Guest Rances Posted October 24, 2003 Report Posted October 24, 2003 What about bg pics in plugin? Is this also solved?
Guest Richie M Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 What about bg pics in plug-in? Is this also solved? Nope, i'm afraid not :) I am planning on doing a completly new version of this once i have finished my current project. Which should be December/January :?
Guest Kallisti Posted March 23, 2004 Report Posted March 23, 2004 For what it's worth, this now fails with "Read Registry Problems" since the E200 update.
