Guest fozzie Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 Damn these games that have waving your arms around and twisting your body from side to side, trying to steer like a mad loon :) Love it!
Guest Brody Posted May 13, 2003 Report Posted May 13, 2003 Looks like a comprehensive piece of work to me, look forward to the final release!
Guest beckd Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Just another image to give you an idea of the amount of effort & detail put into this game, nearly 20 minutes of original composition music has been created for the Smartphone version of RocketElite. Below is a screenshot of about a 2 second clip of one of the songs. You can see the level of detail required to put together top quality music. The music for RocketElite is 17 channel music that is decompressed and mixed real-time while you play. This maximizes the quality while minimizing size & memory usage. If you'd like to see more games with this kind of quality original music, support this product :)
Guest beckd Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Just to follow up, spacemonkey. It turns out that RocketElite when in the background is an application but incorrectly identified as a process by the Smartphone Task Manager because of shortcut used in the task manager to identify the process--which unfortunately doesn't id RE properly.
Guest fozzie Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 I was going to say, when I exit the game, it doesn't show up as a process in SP Task Manager. On another issue, RocketElite bails out halfway through loading on my SPV. I am running the IA Style CallerID Beta 3 app. RocketElite won't load with everything else killed apart from CallerID. Killing the CallerID process allows RocketElite to load. I know you guys said that in the final release, RocketElite will automatically unload apps, but since CallerID is a process, it will remain running. I don't know how you can deal with that one? It's not a major drama for me (and I suspect the majority of people on this forum) but the public at large? I think you'll have to mention it in the Release Notes, at the very least. Anyway, looking forwards to the final release keeping me occupied throwing my arms from side to side, white knuckles et al :)
Guest beckd Posted May 15, 2003 Report Posted May 15, 2003 Thanks, fozzie. I just added some information in the troubleshooting section of the readme file.
