Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Need 3 to confim a pattern but its starting to look slightly suspicious :) Maybe the manual method creates issues with the Geotrust root certificate?
Guest Martin@Home Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Can i do the official OTA unlock without having to hard reset my phone first ? This has probably been covered elsewhere for which I apologise. It will be interesting to see if anyone else using the file mod system to decert have the same probs. Saying that, at orneta's request, I downloaded and installed their "tester" spp (also signed by geotrust) and that went in no probs !
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Hmm strange...it does appear to be an issue with manual decert though. You won't be able to OTA decert with a hard reset (or at least i wasn't able to) i'm afraid.
Guest Martin@Home Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 You won't be able to http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=22908>OTA decert with a http://smartphone.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?p=97945#97945>Hard Reset (or at least i wasn't able to) i'm afraid. With or Without ?
Guest Martin@Home Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Oooer... Does it always mess up quotes containing hyperlinks or am I doing something wrong :?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 without sorry :) The quote-links should be sorted soonish...
Guest HelloDave Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Hmm, reader 1.02 gives a certificate error for me too, and I decerted using the hard reset method :) Doh!
Guest Orneta Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Hmm, reader 1.02 gives a certificate error for me too, and I decerted using the Hard Reset method :) Doh! So problems have only people who decertified the wrong way (not through official web site of Orange) ? We could make the CAB again but if we don't understand the problem it could repeat all over again! We try to find the problem, sorry for temporary inconvenience... In meantime download the file for Smartphone directly, without CAB: http://orneta.com/4martin/OrnetaReader.exe
Guest Martin@Home Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Do we know of anyone who has done the OTA de-cert that has had probs with reader 1.02 ? I recently put in Orneta chess as well with no problems. :? :?

I recently put in Orneta chess as well with no problems. Â :? Â :? Please, be patient. If everything goes OK we will have first major upgrade of Reader around 1st June and we hope that this problem will not repeat again. For now I can say that we could make the CAB again but if we don't understand the problem it could repeat again and again... Martin, could you describe us what version of software you have in your phone, and how exactly how do you unlocked it? (provide links and description maximal) We will try to repeat the situation...
Guest Martin@Home Posted May 26, 2003 Report Posted May 26, 2003 Hi guys... I am running Rom Version 1.3.5.6 (Not sure if this is the latest one) As for how I decerted in the first place :- I have searched the forum for the original thread but cant find it. It was made a sticky for sometime if I remember rightly. Paul or one of the mods may be able to help dig it up but it was the method where 2 files were modified on the PC and copied back to the spv during boot up. Hope this helps :!: :!:

And it works fine with ours... For funs: we are releasing today new version of Orneta Notepad.... so get ready...
Guest Orneta Posted August 22, 2003 Report Posted August 22, 2003 Orneta Reader can read now not only text files but also PDF files. While reading PDF files the text is being reflowed so that you can easily read these files, without the need for scrolling like it is in some PDF viewers It also opens some PDF files that ClearVue PDF refuses to open. It is "text only" reading of PDF files - no graphics - but it allows for fast and comfortable reading of PDF files. If you already purchased older version you can download the new version and work with it right away! Bad news: due to copyright issues we decided not to release support for LIT format although we have already it "hacked". This reader will support only PDF (must be purchased) and text (free and works in trial version) files. Some new features will be added too.
Guest Orneta Posted August 23, 2003 Report Posted August 23, 2003 While 1.04 was the first version that supports PDF, the version 1.05 has been released by us now, and it contains some bug fixes. If you have version older than 1.05 then please download 1.05!

Guest Orneta Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 i am having somw problems with PDF support for the reader. i seem to get an almost constant loading icon while it is open, it is very slow and doesnt seem to wordwrap very well. any ideas? :? It is first version of Orneta Reader with PDF support and I can ensure you that PDF works fine, just some patience is needed. Please allow first to end pagination (so that "1 of ~" will be replaced with "1 of 234" where "234" is number of pages). Then try to exit and enter the program again. This "busy cursor" problem is another issue and it does not influence other behavior. The program works so that it paginates in background (when you see "1 of ~") and usually during pagination you can scroll to next pages. Sometimes the cursor does not dissappear. But once the program paginated and once you entered and exited the program you can be sure that you will be able to paginate and the busy cursor will disappear after the page is turned. We are working on these problems yet and therefore I apologize for these problems... but there is a workaround and we will try to remove them in next version (soon).

Guest Orneta Posted September 2, 2003 Report Posted September 2, 2003 thanks for your swift response. i will be a tad more patient :) please notice that I managed to open with Orneta Reader a PDF files that ClearVue PDF rejected to open! Also I am reading PDF files myself with it, some bigger than 1 MB, and it goes quite well... Please note: more fascinating applications are coming from Orneta in future... so we are just warming up...

So is it best to wait until it has completed the repagnation? Also in this case is it best to have playback page by page? Great app!
