Guest Enchong2k Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 hey can i ask something? how can you convert movie files to divx format? where can i download the converter?
Guest siu99spj Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 We use VirtualDub and DivX. Only problem is that some later versions of DivX can cause problems so people like to use DivX 5.0 which is available here. BTW DivX is the codec, VirtualDub is the program which allows us to convert video files to DivX, including resizing, audio fiddling and loads of other stuff. If you want to convert from a DVD, you'll need to rip the DVD and use a program that can read DVDs (Check DVD Digest for more info) I can also E-Mail you DivX 5.0.3 (Which I explain how to use here) but its a rather large download, at over 3MB. I have both the Pro version (Which you need to pay and register) or Basic version. That help?
Guest ricmoo2003 Posted May 21, 2003 Report Posted May 21, 2003 I love the new trailer, i wish i could get VDub to work for me like that, i keep getting errors whenever i try to encode something, i will give it go with DIVX 5 codec as described above. Keep up the good work..
Guest darren22 Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 siu99spj, thanks for your information and guide on how to convert. I have been trying for ages with few results until last night. Now have Matrix converted :) , quite smooth, however with no sound. :( I didn't run the second pass will that sort out the missing audio or am I missing something :?:
Guest siu99spj Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Usually if you don't run a second pass you can't even view it! Are you sure you ran 1st pass of multipass? The sound problem is probably caused by a lack of codec for the sound. Make sure you are actually encoding the sound (And make sure you have/can read the sound in the first place). If still no go, just make sure it isn't REALLY quiet. Most of my DivX movies need the sound bumping up to be clear... Hope that helps,
Guest darren22 Posted May 22, 2003 Report Posted May 22, 2003 Thanks of the reply, I'll give it a try.

Guest Jay1150 Posted May 27, 2003 Report Posted May 27, 2003 What application do u use to convert to avi?
Guest Maverick333 Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 Where Can I find moore of these sweet films, any full lenght maybe?
Guest siu99spj Posted August 6, 2003 Report Posted August 6, 2003 What application do u use to convert to avi? We're all using VirtualDub to convert them, but if you mean from MOVs (If you happen to download them from Quicktime for example) then you'll need an app called MOV2AVI. I have a copy if you're interested. PM or E-Mail me and I'll send it you. Where Can I find moore of these sweet films, any full lenght maybe? Sorry, most people code them themselves. Trailers aren't frowned upon as all they do is promote the movie further. However, if you want FULL movies, we're not allowed to say, mods would kill us. Sorry.
