Guest florin_m Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 I added here few picures done by me.IMG_7709.JPG
Guest florin_m Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 So "mainboard is identical!!! difference are on screen, keypad and caseing.IMG_7712.JPG
Guest florin_m Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Spv have a bigger caseing arround the screen.IMG_7713.JPG
Guest florin_m Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 But Tanager have a bigger keyboard. So if you want to install a tanager screen on a spv u can't  cause then u need to change the keyboard too, and then u need to chage the casing too. So is not worth the effort.IMG_7714.JPG
Guest florin_m Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 And a pic from my desk (in my lab) :twisted:IMG_7702.JPG
Guest Brody Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Nice pics!! Cheers for the effort!!!
Guest mpak Posted May 31, 2003 Report Posted May 31, 2003 do u know if we can find covers and keyboard from tanager?cause for spv is nothing avalable and its already messed.
Guest tbrose Posted June 1, 2003 Report Posted June 1, 2003 It would be nice if you could just buy the spvx cover, spvx screen and spvx keyboard - if the "mainboard" is the same, you could just replace the three parts, and you would have a tanager! That must be cheaper than buying a brand new one?! Nice pictures btw!
Guest ajb3000 Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 whats the big square metal looking thing on the top right of the tanager mainboard which is missing from the SPV board?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 2, 2003 Report Posted June 2, 2003 It's a electromagnetic shield. guess the covers just been removed on one of them.
Guest futaris Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Ahh, the same soldering iron as me. Nice, cheap and reliable. I got mine from http://www.mobacc.com.au Are there any major differences on the keypad, etc??? LEDs, etc same colour?
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 Is that a brillo pad under the soldering iron cable?
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 When I first saw this post, I was scared it would be a picture of Florin Naked, with an SPV in one hand and a Tanager in the other  P
Guest Vector Posted June 3, 2003 Report Posted June 3, 2003 "]When I first saw this post, I was scared it would be a picture of Florin Naked, with an SPV in one hand and a Tanager in the other  P hehe, don't tempt him
Guest siu99spj Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 Cool pics, though I don't like the way that PIC writer is perched on the power supply (Expensive kit perched on something = Worlds most expensive jigsaw puzzle before long  ). So similar the setup I had at Uni for 3rd year project, except for the several gazillion pieces of Lego that is! Now, no PIC writer, no power supply, just a PC, phone and a notebook with ramblings about master clocks. Oh, and 17 A0 plot plans
Guest Will Posted June 4, 2003 Report Posted June 4, 2003 on both phones, there is a white socket, similar? to the port at the base of the spv. (are these two linked, or is this some diagnostic port?? Florin? Edit - This is where the keypad plugs onto the board.. DOH!! Will
Guest @ngel Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Is it possible to use a SPVx cover for the SPV?
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 Is it possible to use a SPVx cover for the SPV? I'm afraid not as the circuitry inside is a different shape etc, look at the pics in the first post.
Guest squall Posted June 15, 2003 Report Posted June 15, 2003 has anyone been able to get a price from O uk to upgrade from spv to tanger?
