I got one of the hardware engineers at my company to do it as he has access to all the relevant gear. Put it all back together and although the sync stuff still works fine, no power. Has anyone else tried this and had success/failure. Any advice? I presume he's counted the connectors from the wrong end or something? New cable soldered and re-routed and it works!!! Why do they not ship this as a standard feature - with the additon of a suitable diode you could use either USB power or external power. :lol: Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 10, 2003 Report Share Posted June 10, 2003 Some systems cannot handle the powerdrain, ie too many usb devices being used etc. So they play safe and provide their own power supply, but the option would have been nice.
