I was removing the incorrect picture associations from 'k' contacts, got an unexpected error so quit the program and restarted it. This is a really annoying...I'm already on ProPlus and not in the mood for this :evil: FrankyG

I've been adding a couple of pictures and tried out the show number setting only to realise it overlayed a number across the phone's normal display. I've tried to turn it off by clicking on it to hide number but when someone calls the number appears and when I go back to smartface the setting has changed by itself.

Pictures show up fine when peeps call now! The Show/Hide number thing .. is tricky .. you have to do it in some weird order, to get it to save. Now I might have missed something, but my picture shows up infront of the name and number .. anyway of turning off the name and number? Or bringing it up to the top!?

This is a really annoying...I'm already on ProPlus and not in the mood for this :evil: Â FrankyG I just started arranging my contacts, and seeing some of my contacts live together (and I had just attached the picture to their name (not their mobile) I deletede the image from some contacts. This probably deletes the link referring to the picture on my storage card. Cause when I tried deleting the same picture on a different contact, it would give an unexpected error. I quit the program - restarted it - and all the other images were still intact ... so I couldn't quite retrace your 'bug'.

Guest MoRFLeZ Posted June 22, 2003 Report Posted June 22, 2003 Well I guess you could copy the folder "pict". It should be located here: IPSM // Program Files // Smartface // pict. It has links to all the pictures that are lying (probably) on your Storage Card. So if you do a Hard Reset, and put the pict folder back, as well as place all the pictures at the same folder on your Storage card, I think it would work!
Guest theodotcom Posted June 24, 2003 Report Posted June 24, 2003 I had the problem with my k contacts, i went into the first one and tried to delete the image and it gave an error, went into the second one and again gave an error, however when i rebooted the phone, there were no images assigned to anyone so i could add whatever i wanted to whoever. The problem im having which i had when i first installed it is when i reboot my phone and go into the menu i only have about 4 options, one of them is the accessories folder, when i click this folder and go back all the menus are avaliable? Has anyone seen this? what can i do?
Guest LarsDK Posted July 18, 2003 Report Posted July 18, 2003 Ok I am really starting to get pissed..... :cry: I have now gotten the latest version of this piece of software, but it aint working. I have installed the program on my SD-card and added a shortcut to the startup folder and added some pics to the contacts, however not from the pict-folder but from another one. Did not know that it should be from the pict folder. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled and did all the things as above just with the one diffence and that was using the pict-folder. However it remembered all the associations from the earlier installation eventhough the program had been uninstalled. Then I tried messing around with the program, but it only showed the picture from the unknown caller and in the background I could see the standard incomning call screen with the right name and number. It gets worse.... :cry: Now when I open the program it shows the list of contacts, but when I click a contact the phone just stops responding. :evil: How do I get rid of this program TOTALLY so I can reinstall it from scratch so it doesnt remember the old associations and so it will work proberly?? :?: PLEASE HELP ME! I am about to loose my mind over this.....

This is still cool because it allows you to associate animated GIF images of your contacts which is viewable in IAlbum and still use those images in Smartface.

Guest fixit Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 Don't get this - I've installed it and configured one test contact (me) to display a small JPEG. Set contact 'Me' to show this file, full screen from all of the numbers I have for me. Called my mobile from work phone, it came up as 'me' so seems to recognise the number, however I got the mystery caller screen. Rebooted the phone and the app doesn't seem to be running at all now - is same as before I installed it. Anyone guess where I'm going wrong?

Guest MoRFLeZ Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 Afraid I don't know a tool that can do that, but MAYBE if you go in Control Panel and some subject called "Phone and Modem" - depends on which windows you use... anyways, if you change the country in that one, from something else than UK - to example China, it wont make the spaces between the first part of the phonenummer - and the last. That works for Danish users anyways =)
