Hi newbie what format does the ringtones need to be in to be played by the phone and where do u put them so they can be used ?

Welcome to the forum mate :D

Depends on which phone you have.

On the SPV, E100, MPx200 etc, put them in IPSM Application Data Sounds (you may need to create this folder).

These phones will play .wav and MID0 formats.

On the E200 etc, put them in Storage Application Data Sounds.

These phones will play .wavs, most MIDI formats, .wma

Not in theory. You've just got to take the phone memory size-limitations into account. Mine is 1.3MB !

Then again, you can put them on the storage card. The E200 will pick them up from either the main root of the card or possibly in Storage Card My Documents. :D

Unfortunately i have the SPV E100.Pity converting tracks to wav increases their size enormously too big to put on the phone.Will probably have to use something like MP3 cutter to cut part of a track and convert it to .WAV.

There are apps. that allow you to use ringtones off the card on an E100.

You could use Jeyo Personaliser which will be available on Handango or Smartphone.net. Alternatively there is the free program Set Tones which is up here somewhere. I've got a feeling though that only the French original version might still be around, called Changer Sonneries.

Try a search and if I find it first I'll put a link up here :D

When I downloaded many of them... they were 0 byte files on my pc.... Are the downloads working right?

Can you give us an example ?

You know you have to unzip them first ?

Do you have some kind of firewall / download protection thing going on ?
