Guest atterbury Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 Ello chaps, I've downloaded the demo version, but i've been unable to get it to install. Any tips??? The PC side of things works fine but when It gets to installing the cab on the SPV it complains of not being able to locate local resource. I haven't had a chance to contact common time but will over the weekend. Thought it might be a problem with the install routine so I copied the cab to the SD card a tried again ... same result. As I work for big blue and we're notes only I'd love to get this working especially the cal function. keep track of all those flipping meetings. ;) Short of that I'll just have to find a friendly lotus developer and get easysync updated
Guest Syvwlch Posted April 5, 2003 Report Posted April 5, 2003 I'm sorry, d00d, it installed perfectly on mine, right off the PC. Since you have a specific error message, CommonTime ought to be able to help?

Just to make sure I have the right one to. It's not very clear on the web site.
Guest BigBlue007 Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 @atterbury: Same problem here. I received the key in the meantime and so I was able to install the stuff, but the SmartPhone portion has the same problem here as on yours. Sent them an email, hoping they have an idea. BTW, same company...
Guest Syvwlch Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 I have version 3.0 on the SPV side, and version 3.0.1 sever build 70 on the PC.
Guest BigBlue007 Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Where do I find the cab file for the SPV / Pocket PC so I could try a manual reinstallation again (even though atterbury wasn't succesful with that)?
Guest atterbury Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Well I've the same version. Oh well awaiting email reply. You can find the cab files here C:Program FilesMicrosoft ActiveSyncCadenza Nope thats not a missprint it really has truncated the directories together. Has anyone else seen this on there system? Anyone else working for big blue just same time us if you've a question. user name on here's a good clue to my real name
Guest BigBlue007 Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Just received an email from Cadenza: You need to download the CAB file for SPV manually from here. What I don't understand: How could it work for anyone without knowing this... :?:
Guest Syvwlch Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Didn't you get an email from them saying that the cab was there? This thing is still in beta for SPV, i thought. You can't just download a trial for it just like that. Neh?
Guest atterbury Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 err ok  helps if you have the correct cab file. I had assumed that as the web site says it support SPV the version on the web site was the one to go for. Well its all running now. Just trying to work out how to get my cal to sync. Its going through the motions just not doing anything at the mo.
Guest atterbury Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 just a little addition to the last post WOOOO HOOO its working  ok ok I'm easliy pleased ;)
Guest BigBlue007 Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 @Syvwlch: No, I did not received that information earlier. Only after I contacted them, describing the problem I have with the SPV. How did you know that in advance? On their website they say the current version supports the SPV, so I assumed (as atterbury did) that the trial version works "out of the box". @atterbury: Had the same problem with the calendar, but fortunately the log file in the Notes db the program creates is very informative. So I found out quickly that I either need to change the location profile from our IBM default profile to a one that points to the local replica of the mail file, or (as I did it now) that I need to change the profile's default mail file from the server copy to the local copy. It would have worked the first time if I would have been connected to the company's network (which I wasn't).
Guest Syvwlch Posted April 7, 2003 Report Posted April 7, 2003 Well, I'd been bugging them for weeks before it came out so I got the famous "It's out, you're the first to know!" email with instructions and the link to the cab. Twice. Seriously tho, theyz good people, and this is a great product. I'm happy it's working for you now.
Guest clifhanger_uk Posted April 9, 2003 Report Posted April 9, 2003 been looking for a Lotus Notes client for the SPV for ages... Im downloading this now, do I also need this extra CAB file?? cheers guys.
