Guest Hax Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 TiVo - a PVR (Personal Video Recorder) ;) Seriously - it's just a harddisk in a box that records whatever you're watching on the tv -also has some intelligence and records your favourite programmes automatically. So, for example if you like the Simpsons, it will record every epsiode for you, regardless of if you tell it to - also has intelligence for not recording repeats. Anyways, not the place for discussing it, have a look here Hax. P.S. - like the sound of Replay Radio - thanks for the heads up :)
Guest niacin65 Posted July 21, 2003 Report Posted July 21, 2003 I guess you could stream from www.shoutcast.com but at 22 centavos (about 4 tenths of a cent US) per 1k of download, here in the Philippines, that would be expensive. And I am not sure how to configure WMP to open the Shoutcast links to open Winamp.....
Guest FragMeister Posted July 22, 2003 Report Posted July 22, 2003 i used to use Barry Hart's page (available as a link on coolsmartphone.com) which had a number of radio stations. Please note I say used to use, as after the UK update a few months ago it started buffering so often I gave up. Also as the £6/month promo has ended, I dont want to remortgage just to listen to streaming radio!
Guest kyrkesmith Posted November 30, 2003 Report Posted November 30, 2003 This might be the best you can do until the SD card is available and usable. Looks pretty decent to me.
Guest fitz Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 You got to admit, JOB's reply was quiet witty.....It made me laugh anyway
Guest dinoalbert Posted February 10, 2004 Report Posted February 10, 2004 someone here in the philippines was able to make an FM radio headset for the smartphone....check the thread here: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=103182 http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=1031...=asc&highlight=
Guest peekie Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 you can buy small fm radios with their own headphones the battery life of an spv would be 0 with a radio as well i also have a ( humm) nokia 7250 with fm radio and if i dont use the radio 1 week battery use it 8 hours + the signal has to ge good or you will get more than the E200 buzz in your ears anyway who wants to listen to some iam in love with myself jock anyway as the mp3 is good enough next thing you will want is a built in tv and dvd player
Guest Toyota-F1.com Posted February 11, 2004 Report Posted February 11, 2004 I asked a friend about his N-Gage if he could play radio without the headphones, he said "no" and he said "because the aerial is in the headphones" i.e. along the wire somewhere. So, if you have headphones with an aerial, surely it's possible to create a program that can use that aerial to transmit FM Radio on a Orange SPV E200...? I hope it's possible anyway, I'd like that... especially on loudpeaker in case that's possible...
Guest peekie Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 a radio is not really software its hard ware maybe someone might one day make a click in one like the add on camera for the moto who knows still like you said on all nokias the headphones are needed even if you listen from the phones speaker
Guest kalinte Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 so, to put the matter to rest, its not possible to put stand alone FM radio on an E-100 coz you need a tuner (hardware). no amount of upgrade will result to a built in cam on my E-100. right? though i read somewhere of an FM tuner that's inserted to the SD card slot. but that's another story.
Guest peekie Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 thats about the way it is maybe an addon will come like the camera for the moto you never know if there is a market then it will come!!!
