I've still got a putty port going that looks kinda good, except that the network end of it is still busted somehow.

Sorry, Ive been a bit dead to the real world for a couple of months but I'm probably gonna have heaps more free time soon....

If it works, any plans of a beta release?

At the moment the network doesn't go so no point beta'ing that, but as soon as something works it'll be out there :)

The initial release (assuming I can suss it) will only be useful for keyboard owners...

I remember asking about this a year ago gald to see someone is giving it a go. I asked the pocketty people who said they wouldnt do it

This would be so usefull - when out office and need to do a reboot or update a dbase etc.

Any news at all would be appreciated

I have let this one slide for quite a while... I think these sorts of apps will be a whole lot easier to develope in .Net for smartphone 2003 phones. Building application style programs with input output screens on 2002 is a real headache.

I might have another look at my code, but to be honest I think your major hope should be a .Net solution for the e200 owners out there.

I think it will be getting the award for the biggest vapourware in the SPV world...

if this worked on the SPV, what would you guys use it for?

I would be using this to admin all of my server farm. Can't wait for the product...Let me know if you need beta testers.... :)

Thanks,

Ben

Yes, mainly sysadmin, but then theres the coolness factor of your phone doing ssh. :)

I can't imagine it being exceptionally fast or easy to use, but hey, it's just a phone (which looks like a phone and you don't get people asking questions like "wow, you can actually make phone calls with this thing too?").

This seems to be not going anywhere. I think if whoever has it released the source code, someone may actually have a look at it and get it finished. Scary as it may seem, Smartphone 2002 user base is probably diminishing now, so the longer it is taking for an app to be completed the lower the chances are that it will actually reach version 1.0.
