Call up 156 when you get your phone (not 150 they dont have a clue about this) and ask for the "mobile email promotion"

You will find the details on the orange website here

Give them the URL if they don't know what it is.

It is a promotion to give you free GPRS email, but in reality you can use it for other GPRS too, as they don't distinguish what it is used for.

Will do Gorkstar, but my agreement with them was for 12 months, and it's not going to be 12, it's only going to be free for 3. That's the underlying problem

Still waiting for my call off the supervisor.....

anyone found the e100 battery life to be worse than spv? I am and they're saying it might be transmitter problems, but i never had that with spv :)

i'm on the open access free for 1 year pack, and must admit, i'm a wap convert. can check yahoo, ananova, news, o2 etc all free! gggreat!

hmm Zeta, I'd check it out with Orange over the phone - because 2 different managers told me that it was impossible - and I don't see why they would turn away customers otherwise.

Hopefully all is good though!

Hi all! especiall the newbie orangeries!!

I have been with orange since 1994 and must say that most of the time they are ok.

for instance: i was using a nokia 8310e and using approx 500 texts a month and about 200mins a month talk time. my bill was anywhere between 80 and 120 quid depending.

i was surfing the orange site and saw the new 500 free text 12mth wap anytime offer and i thought - eh? i can save about 70 quid a month here!!

so.. i called orange -

this offer is only available to new customers sir

- so you are telling me i have to leave orange and then resign to save 70 quid a month AND lose my pay in front of 80 quid?

yes sir

but don't you think that is unfair on the customers who have been loyal to you through thick and thin for years?

erm, well now you come to mention it.. yes

so is there anything you can do about it?

no

who can i talk to?

customer retentions may be able to help

so i called them....

same story...

new customers only... blah blah blah

can you see my point? i mean personally?

actually (the penny dropped at this point) erm yes

so you can ask a manager for me?

sure

good - cause i don't want to leave orange, i like orange very much etc etc

i'll call you back he said

5 MINUTES LATER (i fell off my chair with surprise) i got a call back

good news

i could join the new tariff subject to me using my pay in front upgrade (shame - like i didn't want 80 quid off the e100) and i could have all the benefits included like 12mths open access, 500 free texts and 200 minutes all for 30 quid a month.

thats a result i'd say - one happy (slightly richer) customer and here i am singing their praises - we both win!! :)

now, it did take about 2 hours on the phone to them - but it was a very cost effective 2 hours.

tip:  no matter how much you get turned down don't take no for an answer - as long as you can be poilte and friendly to them you'll get help from them as you go along - i found phrases like 'do i really have to leave orange cause i might not come back' very effective.

some of you might have been through the mill and i have had my fun and games with them too, but they aren't too bad - i used to have to deal with another mobile provider in my work and they WERE awful!

if you have heard it all before and been through the same scenario then fair enough, but i thought my experience posted might help just someone to make the same savings i did.
