Oh no, my covers blown  I can feel those moles breathing down my neck already

First I must say that I have no association with CS and this is where these GPRS issues must continue to be focused. There also seems to be technical support areas in place to deal with these GPRS complaints but again I know very little about this. I myself am a squillion miles away in a different field of work.

I did become curious though at what could cause such a catastrophic affect on pagemakers GPRS service over the last weeks and I checked a couple of things. I would say it was either this or a tranquiliser dart that was needed to tame pagemakers rage

I sure that Orange will be fully aware of these GPRS complaints and hopefully something will be done to improve the support for those who need it. No doubt Paul will be adding GPRS to his discussions with Orange which may produce a few answers.

Maybe if the SPV's software was tweaked to disconnect and redial if a GPRS call is dialling for more than say 10 seconds. But that would be another phone update.

I am confused however....We have 2 SPV e100's in the same house, registered to the same address and one phone is significantly better at connecting to GPRS than the other.

& my guess is the reason for that post repeating itself 4 times was down to GPRS problems while trying to write the message!!??  Am I right???
No it's a site problem as it happens on landlines as well :)

You're not alone in mentioning this either :?

Totally!!

What is really getting to me tho, is just the fact that we are talking about phones being 'better at connecting' than others - obviously we are all meant to be able to get connected whenever we want, for as long as we want, so that Orange can bleed us dry for all those MB's!!

But if 2 phones in the same place aren't working the same, then surely, logically that means there is a problem with the handset - not the network??

Am I wrong?

drblow: you are wrong if its a consistency issue as it seems to be for me when i get the dialling bug as it occurs sometimes and not others...

I like my phone very much but unlike some of you guys I find  some of the bugs unacceptable so yes I am complaining again and will continue to do so until I am satisfied with the product I am paying for.

Do you actually think before you post? you started this thread by asking why people bothered writing bug reports and a wish list, but isn’t that really the same thing you do with your constant complaining? I don’t think 'o' would be to interested reading posts on similar topics from the same person.

Ive heard before that they monitor the errors reported to cs, so if there was a large number of calls to cs on one problem orange would take note.

Anyway orange htc and Microsoft are already aware of the problems and

Alternatively you could post a message to Neil from MS in the news group if you feel there’s something that hasn’t been identified that needs looked at.

Already done that and I'm surprised you know so much about how Orange and HTC function.

my point is if they know the problem then they will be working to correct it, so theres no point posting complaints as often as you do. and i would say you should post them in the bug track or wishlist instead of in main...

anyway, theres not been a microsoft update yet, i think when it comes out there will be many improvements...

Pagemakers is complaining about GPRS right, I cant be bothered to read through all of these pages so ive just scimmed them.

But has anyone else noticed most of his posts on this thread end with Posted from my SmartPhone!. How can you complain about the gprs if it lets you connect to the internet, load up a website, and interact with it! Shut ur complaing up and get a 3310!

Yes a lot of my posts are posted from my phone, but I have to try to connect about 6 times in order to post on occasions. Do you have your email account set to auto poll the server every 30 minutes or so? If you did you may appreciate how annoying the connection issue can be.

Hey guys lets just agree to disagree on this one. Tit for tat posts get none of us anywhere.

I have my mail to auto poll every hour actually, and every half hour on work days

Weird thing - I had no network coverage for a couple of hours over lunch. Now GPRS seems to be going like a dream. Anyone else?

Hope that's not a polite, politically correct moan
