Don’t know if there is an existing commercial game like counter strike that can play on smartphone via “network” right now.

But it can be developed. There are two options:

a) using web services

Pros: multi-user

Cons: eats a lot of bandwidth and consequently add cost to your gprs usage.

:D using windows socket.

(Correct me if I’m wrong or add up if I miss something)

Cons: The device (infrared) attached to our phone can support only two players.

Same technology can be use for multi-user setting only if our SPs support Wireless LAN SD Card in the future.

Dewslat, this can be an interesting topic after all.

most likely it would be a smartphone app using sockets running on tcp/ip. Problem is that the speed will be really slow if it's a CS type of game. But if it's turn-based RPG, i think it would work.

@neo,

para makatipid ka sa gprs, use pass-thru. hehe...

The upcoming Nokia-Sega N-Gage boasts of Multiplayer capabilities thru BT. Hmmm... let's wait and see how they fare...

@neo,

Prob with pass-thru is im still gonna use my cradle and pc.

Im deprive of mobility... and why not play with my pc directly... hope there is wireless lan sd coz bluetooth has a limited range(its a PAN- personal area network)

Solving the mobility thing may arrise another prob like power shortage. (how about a motolite at our back pack ;) )

@neo,

abt the pass-thru, i'm just being sarcastic. thus the "hehe..." ;)

as for wifi, there is still a limitation to the range.

BT is good for 10-meter radius. That's good enough for mobile gaming.

EY Guys!!!!

My Peace Offering..

I will not say bad words.

I will not harm thee.

I will not make bad comments.

How about it...

But my real purpose of posting is about this "changed" topic... well, i got an idea from it.. How about calling any programmers around and lets do some of our own!! at least, we can be as good as any of these MODACO plus from outside(right!!)!!!! Well, to make it even more cool.. lets make it a multiplayer game!!! If anybody who's interested.. lets make a forum topic about it... Im an novice C and Java programmer.. if there are anyone in here knows Visual C and knows how to program WinCE, will you join!! Now this is going to make us proud!!! ;) :D :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :D :D :( :( :( :(

Very Quick Responce Grifter!!

Ok... let go!go!go!

Im on a microsoft website and im starting to download the

Smartphone 2003 SDK

and

eMbedded Visual Tools 3.0 - 2002 Edition

Sh%$T its 200+MB!!!! it will be while to finish the download.. Now we must start a new forum!!!!

This is the idea: A multiplayer game must use the IR of the smartphone since there are no bluetooth... We must gather more ideas to make this possible..

If in that case, we should have to have a Entrance the same with the main forum.. This is not because of the locality but in general, we are part of a whole.. Philippinos are selfish creeps.. We get and we take... Put this back where it belongs!!! ;)  This only floods the Discussion with dumb topic that does not make sense with SAP!  :x

Well, this is locale specific indeed and if it were placed in another section outside of General - Pinoy, then it becomes a waste of bandwidth since fewer Pinoys will see it. Now isn't that obvious?

I don't see anything wrong with it being in this part of the forum.

BTW, Filipinos are not selfish creeps... hwag mo kami idamay if that's how you feel. This is a Pinoy topic and I say it can stay in here.
