I have a problem with Smartones which you can help me with. I am able to assign custom ringing tone to individual contacts from my ringtones file from the sd card. However, when I use Smartones, it overrides the ringtones assigned to individual contacts and use only the ringtone on the smartone for all the contacts.

Help please

jamesh you can assign individual ringing tones file from your sd card without smart tones? can you pls tell how coz up to now i dont know how to do it even when i installed the smart tones i still cant do it. thanks.

Try this one, it worked for me:

"To set up the Custom Ringtones for contacts edit:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER

ControlPanel

SoundCategories

Ring

Directory

and change the value data to the directory of your ringtones

eg. Storage CardRingtones

then reboot. Now if you go to Contacts - Custom Ringtone, every ringtone in your selected directory is available"

You must have a folder Ringtones on your SD Card where you have all your ringing tones.

Hi Guys

Been following all the posts above, and decided to try Jamesh's registry hack for custom ringtones, i.e.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER

ControlPanel

SoundCategories

Ring

Directory

My problem is... there isn't a Directory key below Ring. Is this normal, and if so, how do I create the necessary instructions to achieve custom ringtones from my SD card?

MoRFLeZ, thank for your work, but..... as I know 8380 will bypass the sd card around 30 sec after you close the cover, it mean the sound will not work. (I Have test it, sound beep beep.) Would you try to fit it out?

my mitac is having this problem too?

any advice?

Yup... It checks out.... the ringtones will not be in effect after closing the cover? anyway around it?

right, heres my thoughts on the matter (i dont actually know the answer, no mitac to test it on, must try and blag one from someone so i can help out tweaking the mitac :))

anyways, back to my thoughts.....

I have a feeling that when the lid is closed on any flip phone device such as the mitac, it changes profiles, when this happens, any ringtone tweaks will vanish, its a known occurance.

Now, there is a fix for this in the form of a profile tweak, can someone try this to see if it works.....

I am using an e200 and have the following problem.

My SD card is called "Storage Card" I have set this name in Menu/SD Card.

When I choose browse I see IPSM, Temp and Storage Card, but I am unable to browse any further. The action scroller does nothing.

What am I doing wrong? How can I scroll to my SD card, or is it not compatible with the e200?

im using a Mitac 8390. i downloaded the program, but now how do i get it to work? it's a *.CAB file. how do i install it?
