Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 Heh. The SSH port was canned, but i believe a PuTTY port is in the works...
Guest Cornetto Posted October 6, 2003 Report Posted October 6, 2003 Putty would be very good for SPV. Telnet 70s ! Hmmm (if it lets you do what you want to do...) - still SSH/Telnet via Putty would be ideal I tried SmartTelnet but couldn't get it to work. Once it did connect (I think) but trying to list a directory crashed the phone. (Tried both Unix and Win2K telnet servers)
Guest fraser Posted October 7, 2003 Report Posted October 7, 2003 Telnet 70s ! Hmmm (if it lets you do what you want to do...) Yeah, but thanks to the complete lack of encryption, it lets everybody else on your wire do what you want to do!! There aren't many enterprise companies left that allow the use of telnet on production servers. The last place I was at wouldn't allow it anywhere except test labs, where everyone knew the root password anyway. Telnet. Don't do it!! Mmm, putty. I carry a PC version of that around on my SD-card already, handy with a portable USB reader. Looking forward to that, especially if it'll let you port-tunnel!!
Guest x540 Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 at least OrnetaFTP works for me ! although i have to initiate internet connection with PocketIE first... some bus in the connection list: -a contact i had (the last one) has just disappeared! i tried to re-create it but it disappeared again... -i cannot modify "passive mode".. it doens't stay after accepting...
Guest didio Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 I can't het this to work on my e200. I get the following error: Can not establish FTP connection, Windows error 12029 Cannot connect Anybody who have this working on a 2003 smartphone.
Guest zeta101 Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 Im trying this on an e100...having some probs, i make a manual gprs connection using pIE then connect and it connects fine, i go and look for a file to upload and by the time i find one and start to upload the gprs connection is dropped! Any ideas?
Guest fraser Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 You can change the timeout for GPRS, which is the length of time it keeps the connection open after the last transmission. Your FTP server may have the same thing though.
Guest zeta101 Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 cheers, changed it to 10 minute timeout...works a treat
Guest Chris Edwards Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 I get error 12029 "Cannot connect" on e200 device here as well.
Guest mattyduk Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 Hi, trying to use 1.11 of Ornata FTP, but when trying to upload a jpg, get a format error on the transfer window. anybody else know why I should get this. I'm looking for a program where I can upload a jpg, and then this as part of a my signature of a forum (Blogpic). I've tried Atomic lava, but that crashes out when I try to add a picture
Guest mattyduk Posted December 21, 2004 Report Posted December 21, 2004 just to add to this. If I transfer a txt file to the ftp, its fine. However as soon as I try and transfer a small photo (taken with the SPV), to the FTP site, I get a formatexception error. Come on, somebody must have had this problem, and found a workaround ? Of course this product isn't being support anymore :) I've tried the demo copy of Phoneexplorer, but that can't connect to the FTP site :( (and the settings are correct, because I can connect fine from the PC). Help !!!
