I am in a contract I don't want to be in as I feel I have been mislead with various things and many services I bought teh contract for do not work. I have considered just terminating the direct debit and seeing if that would make them get back to me but I really dunno if it's worth the hassle of possible legal ramifications. Any suggestions? Has anyone terminated a direct debit before? If you terminate the Direct Debit (which is really easy to do - just call your bank up or use their online services if they have any) then all that happens is O write to you telling you that unless you pay your bill within 7 days you may get cut off - which I guess could then result in a reconnection charge and the like but I don't really know - just got a letter like that a few weeks ago when I changed banks and didn't set up a new DD with O in time. What happens if you pass the 7 days I don't know - I paid up the evening I got the letter (no reason not to really - my own silly fault!) So, in all, it's probably not worth the hassle that you will then get. WRT not being able to get MSN, other people have mentioned an MSN alternative in this thread. Guest superkingdave Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 in my student days( which only ended in june!) i never used to pay my bill till i got the seven day letter( usually after you havent payed for two months). hey they dont charge interest so i get a bit extra interest for leaving the money in my bank a bit longer! a couple of times i left it too late but all you have to do is ring them up and pay your balance and you are back on without any extra charges. We plan to distribute the software fix for this in December 2003" well i guess that leaves them another 33 days to untill they change it to jan i guess I am soory if i sound cynical but i feel like i am banging my head against a brick wall when i speak to them all i get is what seems to be the same openended script. which gives me absolutly no resolution to my problem.

It will be good news. yeah, on Monday you'll say "it gonna be releaed in middle December 2003" or something like this. the ONLY good news would be: Orange will release upgrade to Smartphone2003 for spv and spv e100 so that users could use this plenty of new games that work only in smartphone2003 because it has .NET ! anything else is not "good news" but just "news".

The Upgrade will be an updated version of Smartphone 2002, with improved performanced, tweaked features to inbox etc

I know that may sound like blind faith (believe me, it's not!!) but, you know what I mean ... Tell you what, I can't wait to see if it does actually come out, & the ensuing chaos if it doesn't! :wink:

Great - you obviously already have the informatio and it has been decided on what should be said, but, rather than coming on here to post the information, you come on to say that you're going to post it on Monday. Why not just be straight and post the information when you just visited the forums? Instead, you decide to "fob" us off for a couple more days.. Reminds me of the "Go away or I shall taunt you some more" scene in the Monty Python's search for the Holy Grail... Man - why do I even bother posting? There's thousands of people with SPV's out there who don't know jack about any update and don't really care. It'll be nice to have but really I won't lose sleep over it. I know it's a smartphone and one from microsoft to boot, but it's the first time I've had to "update" my phone without buying a new one. Suggest you lay off Mr. O until after mondays post and instead spend the rest of tonight and the weekend in the pub, telling the barmaid how orange don't understand you and whats she doing after work etc. Oh, and the other reason for me not caring about this update at the moment is 'cos my SPV went tits up and is being replaced next week :?

If you get hot under the collar for something so insignificant as a piece of software, then you're as sad as those who think they're someone because they do. It's a phone; it's not alive - it's not a part of you and when you die, it can't go with you. It shouldn't even be a small part of your life, it's a support which makes things easier but not so critical that your existence will collapse when you realise that someone else has software for it which you don't. Sure, I think that Orange are pulling a fast one, just as Sony did with the J5 and their promises of software for it only to pull the promise once it suited them. They're big corporations who don't care about people, only sales and the representatives who keep telling you that they know something secret and you should be quiet only do so because they want to feel important. Do you feel that you're not important because you're not in the gang? Get a grip and realise that your phone is not you, it says nothing about what you are, only what you think you are. You weren't born with your phone and you won't die with your phone. So, there'll be news on Monday then? ;-)
