Guest chucky.egg Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 id like an app so i can assign a ringtone from my sd card Isn't there already an app to do that? I think it might be SmartTones (never used it) or Sonnieres (not sure about the spelling) Check Mono's site - www.monolithix.org
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted November 10, 2003 Report Posted November 10, 2003 You can do this without any tweaks in the 1.6 update :) P
Guest roke Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 I'd like an app that allows you to play wmv in fullscreen, instead of playing with half a media player settings screen... So far, I didn't succeed in watching fullscreen movies with media player.
Guest drblow Posted November 16, 2003 Report Posted November 16, 2003 What about a stand-alone reminder app - which would allow the user to apply a skinned background to the alert screen that appears when the reminder alarm goes off?? It's the one screen that I see most often that I can't skin along withe the rest of the alert screens.
Guest rolywalter Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 How about this: I'd like a program, I suppose it's a bit like AvantGo, which downloads (using your computer) an MP3 of an 8am news broadcast (there must be something on the BBC) and puts it on your SD every morning. It should also be named something special so that it's first on the list. This way I can catch up on the world quickly. Anyone think that would be a good idea?! Or am I going to have to get a rubbish 3G phone for this sort of thing?
Guest blewer Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 rolywalter, Sounds like a good idea to me
Guest JoelRae Posted November 20, 2003 Report Posted November 20, 2003 It should also be named something special so that it's first on the list. or have a playlist of its very own  nice idea mate, although prob wouldn't work great for me with my dialup connection :?
Guest cybercamel Posted November 21, 2003 Report Posted November 21, 2003 This involves a lot of work and includes some hardware, but if this is possible it would suit me down to the ground. So for all those people with 2 phones, like me at the moment, how about a small device, about the size of the SPV camera, that will take a simcard and a radio (phone). This would plug into the bottom, and then with a new application, switch to the plugged-in simcard. Then when you take it out, it will switch back to your original number. Does that make sense? I know about line 1/2, this would be similar but under your control. I don't got know if this is possible so please feel to shoot it down in flames! And if I haven't explained it very well, basically it would be like having 2 phones but only one handset!
Guest Ndev Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 Hi guys, I'd really like to know why in the world you can't use mp3's as ringtones!? A reg tweak or app for this would kick butt instead of us having to convert mp3's to wav, then edit, spend ridiculous amounts of time trying to get a good loop going, by which time after hearing it so many times, your allready sick of the ring tone! :!:
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 Why ? Are you going to listen to a whole song before you answer the phone ? My answerphone cuts in after 30 seconds anyway.
Guest dodding nonkey Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 An application that lets you edit Excel spreadsheets has got to be top of the list! Please?!!
Guest pwest13 Posted August 2, 2004 Report Posted August 2, 2004 OK how about this for a farfetched idea, ANy1 seen those games u can get which come with a camera for you xbox/ps2 in which you have to play games such as heading a ball in the air where you are actually in the game bouncin up + down in ur living room? How about 1 of thoses type games :P You can imagine all the looks u get when ur bobbing on the train...although you cant look into the camera and see the screen, theres always the mirror tho! :D Westy
Guest robt Posted August 2, 2004 Report Posted August 2, 2004 I would like a small program to back and retore the mail and gprs settings on the phone, and / or allow you to type new settings on the pc and then save them to the phone. I am so sick of typing the word "vodafone"!
Guest Colonel Trouble Posted August 2, 2004 Report Posted August 2, 2004 an app that lets you edit ms word , exel etc documents on the Phone and on the pc ! This would let me type essays on the way to school :P Also a FULL backup app of your phone , a bit like Windows system restore (but not crappy) ... The idea of auto download and transfer of a news bulletin mp3s is a great idea IMO well done for thinking of it ..
Guest mrchrisdavies Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 - A nice, easy to use, "Smart Communication Centre". or "Pocket Outlook". Contacts would be saved there, and the inbox, would contain, both emails & text messages. And it needs to be easy to setup email accounts, hotmail, etc. - Also: "PocketDJ!" a mobile mp3 player with samples, and ability to mix two or more mp3 tracks. Would be great fun on the train to pass the boredom. ...A full Amiga 500 emulator, Oh, and a bar code reader attachment for when I'm shopping at Safeway! :P
Guest Coolbox Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 Hi I was thinking about a small program that emulates a memory flash stick som jeg kan just plug your smartphone in any pc and get access to you sd-card without activsync. That would be very nice. I dont know if it possible at all og maybe it will need some sort of hardware. My best solution right now is a very small card reader I have bougt wich I can carry around easy.
Guest Colonel Trouble Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 i think maybe an app that allows u to download email from your hotmail account ... oR G-mail
Guest Cybertronic Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 A delete all app for the inbox (emails & sms's) There's already one for the SPV E200 :?, Paul posted a patch here :P
Guest Sherbet66 Posted August 6, 2004 Report Posted August 6, 2004 How about some simple antispam software
Guest yoos Posted August 7, 2004 Report Posted August 7, 2004 I put this in another post to, but it's appropriate here... We need an app that allows us to reconfigure what the keys do based on the OS/ROM (if this is possible)... For example, we need to change the mapping of the voyager joystick being pushed in so it DOESN'T answer the phone. It sucks when you have the phone in a pouch, the keys are locked and your phone answers itself due to the key being pushed in too easily. Other examples I've heard from others where this can help is: - Changing the key that brings up the T9 changer - If a number key isn't working or sticky and we don't have a care plan we can map another key (i.e. record key) to the number key.
Guest monkeyjabber Posted March 3, 2005 Report Posted March 3, 2005 (edited) I'd like to see a software qwerty keyboard for smartphone. PocketPC has a a virtual keyboard for text input, but Smartphone users are stuck with the number pad or T9. Maybe it could work like this: use the direction pad to navigate the keyboard, the action key to select a letter, and the * button to change case. The keboard could be integrated into a new SMS app, or it could be in a Notepad-type program with a cut & paste function for inputting text. Shouldn't be too hard. Any takers? But thats just my $0.02. Edited March 3, 2005 by mgama
Guest scottishdave Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 What about a ringtone randomizer? A little like the iPod Shuffle... but for ringtones... :D Oh, to have so many ringtones and not hear them all...
Guest scottishdave Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 User profiles? Very useful. Especially if you use your phone for work and for, say personal use.
Guest scottishdave Posted March 4, 2005 Report Posted March 4, 2005 An overclocking utility (Easytune for the smartphone). I'm just curious to see how far I can push my phone before it blows up. :D
