Guest debully
Just formatted the storage card that came with the e200 - the one that says 8Mb on it....SP Task Manager still only reports 6.44M left. I know there's some blurring of the edges when it comes to data storage but not over 1.5 meg surely? TIA.

Guest cyrilthefish
thats about right i'm afraid  *Beware, probably dodgy maths ahead* The first part of it is due to memory card manufacturers counting 1MB as being 1000kb not 1024kb. this means the actual physical storage available on a SD card is not 8192kb (8mb) but in fact 7812.5kb (~7.62MB) A lot of the remaining 'missing' space will be taken up by the FAT file system itself. i also remember reading somewhere (though i can't for the life of me remember where) that SD cards have a special secure area on the card for copy-protection and so on (which is why a MMC card has slightly more space than a SD card) which takes up up to 900kb if i remember correctly
