Application unlock (decert) your Orange UK MPx200

I am a complete novice. I have tried to follow your instructions for unlocking the phone but really don't get it. What do I do once I have opened the zip file? and should there be more inside the file than just text?

im not exactly an expert, and i didnt unlock my phone through this method. but i do know that you do not need to open/unzip the file, you simply copy it to your phone as it is and install.

however this method only works on older phones, you are probably better off going to the OTA developers site, once there you just follow the on screen instructions. my advice would be to download the orange register program if it cant find your imei number.

Hi, Alphaflux ...

I'm using @anonymous rom update on my mpx200. My problem is, I've installed SmartFilter successfully but cannot get it run. It says 'Your phone not fully unlocked'. But some other apps and games (like SP Task Manager, Mastermind ... etc) that need unlocked state run OK (meaning my phone is already unlocked, right?). I've tried to apply your instructions in previous post, but still doesn't solve the problem. Is it the software issue itself or my phone is really not fully unlocked?

Could somebody help with this one. When I try to run unlock.cab I get :

Installation failed. The program or setting cannot be installed because it does not have adequate system permissions. Please contact your service provider for more information.

Welcome to the site :P

If you are using a newer Orange MPX200 with 2002 then the app will

not work and you will need to click on OTA to unlock your phone at

the Orange developers site.

ive finally recieved the app rom orange to unlock my mpx! though im still having the same problem, ive installed it but it says 'this program will allow you to change the security setting' so how do i change it one installed?

From what I remember you should get an option when you install the app,

as a happy customer of our product (I hope you have bought it) all I have to say (again and again):

YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO RUN THE PC INSTALLER TO INSTALL SMARTFILTER.

Then it will work with any (unlocked) MS-SmartPhone on this planet ;-) .

If you have had the phone less than a couple of months then the only way to unlock the

phone is to use the Orange developers site. Click on OTA for more info :P

I was having all kinds of trouble getting this to work. I ended up mailing the Development team. (option 3) and asking for help that way.

I was assured by them once sending them the IMEI number of the phone that I would recieve a program in the next couple of days.

As this continued over a weekend I decided to give option 2 another go which is where you get a text mesage link to a file that downloads to your phone and some simple to follow instructions are on the website of what to do. However the confirmation screen to click OK on did not appear. As this further than I had managed to get previously I decided to see if it had worked and tried the decert online thing again and this time it worked.

I have since recieved a mail from the development team which pointed me to a weblink which downloaded a piece of software to run on my PC which will in turn install a piece of software on my phone which enables me to control the applicaion security settngs on my phone.

So all of you having problems getting this to work, go along the option 3 route and keep trying option 2 while you wait for a response. This way you may get you phone application unlocked before the Dev. team get back to you but in the long run you get a programme specifically for your phone which will enable you to control the security settings for the application, which could be useful incase you ever need to alter rhis again. :wink:

One last thing - When I first recieved the link through text message I selected to install the application on my SD Card and when I tried to find it in the program menu I could not. I installed the software again but this time I chose to install it to the phone memory and lo and behold the application appeared in the program menu.

Hope this will help / encourage those having prolems.

Hi, I have an mpx200 running SP2003 - do I need to install this unlock thingie ?? :) Basically I'm new the to SP mod scene, so don't know what software is out there to make it worth doing this.....where should I look?

Last thing, I tried to install the Unlock.CAB, I put it in storagewindowsstart menuaccessories clicked on it to run it, and it said that it failed to install due to lack of a digital certificate??? Does this mean I have to follow the instructions on the Orange Developer's website?

As you are running the hacked software on your phone it does not need application unlocking :)

Can you suggest a good place to look for 3rd party apps, free or otherwise? Is there something like SPB Pocket Plus for SP2003? I

used this great little app on my PDA, and it was a real improvement over standard PocketPC. I guess I'm getting a bit off thread here - so I'll stop 8)

I have an ATT MPX200 and had it unlocked when I first got it but then I had to perform a hard reset after which the phone locked up..I tried this app unlock but to no avail..any suggestions?

The AT&T phones do not need to be application unlocked.

Only Orange Smartphones are application unlocked as they prefer

signed software to be installed on their phones. This is to try and prevent rogue software that could potentialy contain a virus etc from being installed.

im trying to decert my phone but im having difficulty. I doint what it states on the site (official orange one) but nothing happens... when i enterd my phone number, email addy and ime number i click on and then i takes me to a blank page which show done at the bottom - for those who have used this method is this what the site did for you? or is it a broken link??

Are you talking about application unlocking with an Orange phone

or SIM unlocking to use the phone on another network?

If you click on OTA this will give you instructions on how to application unlock your phone. If you use GPRS you do not need the

phone connected to the PC.

ok well ive tried lowering my fire wall which enabled me to get to the next screen, i couldnt decert as it was saying that either my phones hadnt connect be connected to the net etc...

so ive downloaded the file via sms to the phone, it informs me to click on the link in the msg to enable the decertion but eveytime i try to connect to the net it say check thats theres network coverage in the area. There is coz ive been on line before using this sim in another phone.. Im currently on o2 does this have anything to do with it?

Yep with O2 you need to use passthrough and not GPRS.
