Guest Stomski Posted March 30, 2004 Report Posted March 30, 2004 Anyone know if this works with logos.bmp? I don't like the look of the analogue clock/calender slip. Similarly, what's numbers.bmp for?? Thanks, Stom.
Guest Sasuke Posted April 11, 2004 Report Posted April 11, 2004 Has anyone tried using Nokia picture messages? they work very well :D
Guest Jandy Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Alreet, I followed the instructions to the letter, but my bastardised logo doesn't wanna come out to play... :D ..I just get one measley pixel hiding in the corner of the flipscreen when the phone is open. As of today somethin new has developed, and the flip now displays the earpiece volume when the clam is open. What have I done?!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 4, 2004 Report Posted May 4, 2004 Can you post your logo? that way i'll give it a go and see if I can replicate your problem.
Guest Jandy Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Hi, no prob. I've tried with two logos. Putting them in ISPMWindows and changing the registry logopath still gives the same result. I read another person who has found the same on another thread. http://modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=103944&s...=asc&highlight= Here are the logos I tried.... Thanks for your help.OrangeLogoeye.gif
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 I can see the problem :D The image is a .gif file it needs to be .bmp ie a bitmap image as gifs are not supported.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 Here are the images I have edited, I have made a negative image as that is probably the one you actually want to use. The zip files are actually bmp but I have the image in gif in my post as bmp cannot be posted here.eye.gifeye1.GIFEYE logos.rar
Guest Jandy Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Hello, Thanks for the help so far...... ....but I do actually have the file as a bmp. on my phone, but bmp file extensions are not allowed as an attachment, so I converted to gif to post it up. (Sorry, I should have said) #-o Are you able to display the image on your screen then? I'll give it another go using the ones you've edited for me, and see if there's any change. Cheers
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 I placed my image in IPSMApplication DataHome folder and make sure you type the following in HKEY_CURRENT_USER ControlPanel ExternalLCDLogoPath ipsmapplication datahomeeye.bmp (replace eye.bmp with the image you want to use) I have tested both of the images above and had them displayed correctly. Remember after doing the above you need to reboot your phone to make the changes take effect.
Guest Jandy Posted May 6, 2004 Report Posted May 6, 2004 Thank you very much. I dread to tell you how much of a knobhead I am..... Just found what was causing my problem. I am a tool, sorry for wasting your time...... It's meant to be "IPSM", not "ISPM" as I had been typing for some unfathomable reason! Quoting Jandy: "Hi, no prob. I've tried with two logos. Putting them in ISPMWindows and changing the registry logopath still gives the same result." "I followed the instructions to the letter" - evidently not TO THE LETTER. #-o On the plus side, it looks quite good! :) Cheers again, at least that one is put to rest now.
Guest ikonis Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 ok im going to sound like an idiot.... but how the hell can i type a in the registry editor? (please dont shoot me cause im stupid) edit: specifically PHM's regedit... and no... pressing "1" repeatedly doesnt bring up the slashes (does in IE but not in regedit argh!)
Guest Jandy Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 Yay, here's one I can help with! Hi Ikonis, all U gotta do is press and hold the # key, and the symbols screen should pop up. Voila! Simply select the slash key, and you're ready to cause untold damage to your phone! Hurrah for PHM! (BTW, you can change beteween T9 mode, ABC and numbers by pressing and holding the * key too!) Lemme know if U have problems, J :)
Guest waroffice Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 i cant get PHM regedit to install it brings up the activesync thing but does nothing. any reason for this
Guest Vector Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 Try installing using the CAB file instead from the website here, place it in IPSMWindowsStart Menu and run it from there :)
Guest ikonis Posted May 9, 2004 Report Posted May 9, 2004 Yay, here's one I can help with!  Hi Ikonis, all U gotta do is press and hold the # key, and the symbols screen should pop up.  Voila!  Simply select the slash key, and you're ready to cause untold damage to your phone!  Hurrah for PHM! Guest Stomski Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 I did some Futurama ones to go with theFuturama theme. Obviously, they work on their own :)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Cool 8) Nice one, may be an idea to get a logos only post going.
Guest shiwlof Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 Very very cool tip guys! Thanks a lot! The phone is getting better and better by the day. Ok, been playing around with it now... Is there any way you can have the image display while the flap is closed?
Guest @ngel Posted June 2, 2004 Report Posted June 2, 2004 I added the string and did it... it is very cool... that's mine...:
Guest madmaxedcn Posted July 8, 2004 Report Posted July 8, 2004 have a att mpx200. when i go to hkuser/contpan.exterlcd.what do i have to do step by step
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 As mentioned in the first post in this thread, change the existing path for the file path of the new image you want to use. I normally place the images I want to use in IPSMApplication DataHome
Guest stonedbill Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 Thats awesome!!!!! :P thanks, my phone now says BILL accross it in big letters. :!: :!: :!: anyway im posting this to let others know that i had a bit of a problem working out how to edit the registry (using the PHM editor) just to clear thing up with others once you have gone into HKEY_CURRENT_USER ControlPanel ExternalLCD you do not need to create a new key named LogoPath , you need to press the values button at the bottom and it comes up with a list, you the press on the one named logopath and type in the destination there. this may have been obvious but i am new to the registry editor so it really confused me, so i thought it would be useful to post it to help stop others having the same problem. thanks again guys (and girls) my phone could look a lot different by this time tomorrow!!!!
