Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted December 4, 2003 Report Posted December 4, 2003 Hi guys, Sorry if you're going to get charged for this but I dont think anyone could seeing as the text didnt have any form of T & C's on it I would personally phone up Orange and askfor their advice if you have done so. Anyway, here is a screen capture from my SPV because SmartCapture app didnt seem to work with my E-200 :?: This is the original text (the unreigsterd thing is the program i used to convert it from bitmap to jpeg i think ).jpg
Guest Firaas Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 Hi guys, I've just got off the phone to Orange. The offer is NOT actually £5 of free calls. It is not very clear on the text that you receive from them about this. Apparently you will be charged for the reply text (eg Yes) and then this will give 20% OFF CALLS TO EUROPE ONLY. :!: :!: :!: It is not really free calls but that you buying a discount token that can save you UP TO £5 on European calls. That's what the guy from Orange CS said. He said anybody who has said yes mistakenly can reverse their deicsion calling Orange and saying that they misunderstood and don't want to be part of the Scheme - this is as long as you having used it yet. To quote orange man, "", ""...Erm  Anyone heard anything different from Orange CS (well you know how it changes with each call you make to them...) Sounds like a load of garbage that a CS rep invented to look clever. If Orange had done this they would be struck down by the ASA/ICSTIS almost instantly - both organisations have become very severe on misleading advertisements involving SMS messages. "Text XXX for £5 of free calls to friends and family abroad" cannot be perceived in any other light, it can only mean that you receive "£5 of free calls to friends and family abroad" - any meaning along the lines of "£5 free if you spend £25 to selected European countries" is obviously and intentionally misleading...
Guest paradox ewan Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 Its probably sn orange scam to add a field in the customer services database. ie MODACO user yes/no lol expect future calls to 156 to be treated like @~@~ LMAO big brother is watching!
Guest mattscholey Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 Its probably sn orange scam to add a field in the customer services database. ie MoDaCo user yes/no I can see why Orange would want to know that. We learn an awful lot on here... Matt
Guest dma Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 I got the original text on 1/12. Can't see at as anything other than £5 free. Orange are really good at sorting billing mistakes anyway, just remember to look at your bill!

Calling abroad with Orange is still good value. See orange.co.uk/international" Oh well, thats that sorted out then

Guest shadamehr Posted December 9, 2003 Report Posted December 9, 2003 Me too - I'm another that's not gonna get it. Despite already having recieved the text saying that I AM... I now get one saying I AM NOT. You think by now Orange would have learned their lesson after the charging for received Picture Adverts fiasco... Er, I thought I just came over to Orange recently becuase of their amazing Customer Care...
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted January 3, 2004 Report Posted January 3, 2004 Just to stir up old news again - did anyone who was eligible get a bill in recently :?: I haven't got mine yet and was wondering due to the other phone bill cock-up in another thread if this could potentially be another  :?: Cheers
