Guest jrg1967 Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Hi Just found this forum after having problems with a new card. And guess which one? Yup, a Viking. A 256MB. Someone mentioned serial numbers, well these are A03198126 and SD-M256B1 and 0416TJ3326H. It was made in Japan. It seems to work for a minute, then the phone stops recognising the card until you remove and re-insert it. My previous card, a Fujifilm 128MB has worked faultlessly for months. Serial no. AK0312QN. Made in China. :) I purchased the Viking card from Ebuyer, their price was excellent, ordering and delivery faultless. Just hope their returns policy is as good, as I want to change it for a Lexar or Sandisk one. :? P.S. I have an Orange SPV e200
Guest Toobster Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 damn.. cant trust no manufacturer.. your serial is same as min Kingston-card above.. Hi Just found this forum after having problems with a new card. Guest Toobster Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 The winds shift fast... I just got a answer from Sandisk support.. with good news.. ------------------ Hello, Thank you for contacting SanDisk Technical Support. Both the Ultra II and Extreme SD cards are single cell. The standard SD card could be either single or multi cell. --------------- Ultra II or Extreme SD is the way to go then.. and buying a Standard SD is simply taking a spin with russian roulette......
Guest meatgrinder Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 well, my Dane-elec one works (its super-cheap), never worked originally, used to cockup when i tried to write on it, but after the rom update (odd) it all started working fine :) Dave

Guest HKBoySiR Posted June 5, 2004 Report Posted June 5, 2004 PNY 512MB sadly doesn't work. Good deal though... :)
Guest MrMagoo Posted June 6, 2004 Report Posted June 6, 2004 TwinMos 128MB SD works fine - and I mean fine - even with the new rom - i get no problems - even tho the only site i can find selling it now says specifically it is not compatible with an E200! go figure  Retailer Page That says it wont work even tho it does!
Guest Lingerhosen Posted June 7, 2004 Report Posted June 7, 2004 *Desperately wishes he had seen this thread before ordering...* Have received my new Viking/Toshiba 256MB card. Wrote for a second then gave up. Doesn't work at all now, though it does recognise the size of the card on windows media. Doesn't even bloody fit, got it stuck at one point and couldn't get it out!!! Bag of s***e!! Will now have to mess about returning it! Have still got a (rather expensive a year ago mind) Fuji 32Mb card that works like a dream. Sigh...
Guest martyn Posted June 9, 2004 Report Posted June 9, 2004 Integral 512mB tried 2 types (single layer and multiple layer) - neither worked :D with my E200.
Guest pizdyetz77 Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 128Mb Liberta MMC - works fine in SPV & E200

Guest Cybertronic Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 SanDisk Ultra II 256MB working fine here :P Got it off ebay as shops in the UK sell it for very expensive as it's the fastest SD card around! 8)
Guest Dibbs Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 Someone else here found this thread too late. Kingston SD 512 won't write. Now to test out Dabs.com's returns policy.
Guest Samsonite Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 i use a non-branded 256MB card from a local PC outlet called Novatech. cost less than 30quid and works a treat! i get the occasional cant find spinny thang but a swift on/off sorts that... will be updating the ROM this weekend and will post again if there's any drama...
Guest sideshowjon Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 on E200 Viking (Toshiba) 512 MB OK Kodak 256 MB (three of these) OK
Guest ham77 Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 Kingston SD 256MB with my 'delicate' Xphone. so far so good..... sometimes the windows pocket media player went into some sort of looping/buffering (as displayed, sounded like it's having a bad case of hick-up) when playing windows media files for a long while (20 min or more), but after taking out the SD and insert again, it ok now, so far....
Guest alanclose Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 anyone with any experience of either of these ebay ebay
Guest pizdyetz77 Posted August 16, 2004 Report Posted August 16, 2004 Tried a 256Mb 'Peak' SD card the other day in my local PC shop. In the time the assistant let me test it in my E200 I was able to write a text file to it via Smart Explorer as well as a 2Mb MP3 which played back just fine off the card. They do a 256Mb for £26 and a 512Mb for £49. They supposedly do a 'Next Day Business Post' service too. I didn't try the 512Mb so will leave it up to you to decide whether or not it'll be the same as the 256Mb. website is Priceless Computing, Glasgow The card manufacturer's own website can be found here - it gives all sorts of specs that I don't understand. Maybe someone else will. GH
Guest pizdyetz77 Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 They've now dropped the price to £26 for the 256Mb card and to £44 for the 512Mb card. My mate tested and bought the 512Mb. Reads and Writes about twice if not 3x faster than my old 128Mb MMC The card make is A2 Data, i think. Whatever it's called - it works just fine. Hope this helps. GH
Guest tomwright Posted August 26, 2004 Report Posted August 26, 2004 Viking 512MB SD-Card: DOES NOT WORK :) Contacted Viking who said it was a Multi-Cell card and was hence not compatible with the e200.
Guest SShadowS Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 Dane-Elec SD-Card 256MB Didn't work, couldn't write on card (But were using an old ROM) PQI MMC-card 256MB Works great both then and now.
Guest LloydThompson Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 I bought a Kingston 256MB which initially I could not write to; Kingston confirmed it was multi cell. Sent E200 to HTC to get joystick repaired and mentioned SD problem too. Phone returned today and now the card works fine. Not sure exactly what HTC did; repair description just said 'Replace SW/B'. Does this mean some of these probs can be solved simply by HTC. Phone was still under warranty so no charge.
Guest DSylvian Posted September 14, 2004 Report Posted September 14, 2004 Transcend - 1GB - 45x - Full of music and working great!
Guest LoTu Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 Kingmax 1Gb platinum working fine.. :) (E200)
