OBJECTIVE: to share with future SAP user/s what are the do's and dont's on using a Smart amazing phone.

believe me, TRIAL AND ERROR will kill you (though not physically, but mentally)

WHY?: these will be "experiences" from sa users (first hand data). sap is the first windows based mobile phone in RP, so bad or good experiences will be inevitable.

P.S. do's and donts lang to. pag may tanong kayo, use SEARCH!! (parang poster profile. post lang profile, wala ng ek-ek-OT)

ako na first blood!

1. as advised, it is preferred to shut down all apps (under task manager) before shutting down your mobile phone. (to prevent accidental loss of data)

2. DO NOT!!! upgrade your rom to smart's 1.7 something version kung globe sim ang balak mong gamitin. promise sister, MAGSISI KA

(madazzcow, para syo to pards!)

3. DO NOT! buy sd/mmc agad-agad. search ka muna bidshot/buy and sell or check the for sale thread. dami mura din. why? ang mamahal ng sd/mmc ngayon sa market.

ako meron:

DO backup your files. As they say, you wouldn't know what you got till it's gone.

DON'T clutter your IPSM with programs. It's either maghahang yung sap mo, or worse magccrash. Dapat daw at least 3MB yung free sa IPSM mo. If you don't have an SD/MMC yet, check out the "top 5 apps" thread for the essentials.

DO take care of your keypad. Para di kayo mapagsabihang mukhang gulaman yung send/end keys nyo.

yun lang.

sweetyls,

hahaha!!!

another is, "DO NOT" mess with the registry if you dont know what you're doing.it's fun modifying the registry but its risky.baka mauwi ka sa hard reset.

about SD cards, kung bibili kayo or magbebenta kayo, check niyo ang price sa market.baka kasi mapamahal ka sa pagbili or baka naman sobrang mura mo maibenta yung sa iyo.....kagaya ng nangyari sa akin.

If unsure, "DO" feel free to ask the guys here at modaco. no question is a stupid question,i always say. :D

For me:

1. DO use the speed dial shortcuts instead of always using the soft keys to preserve it. Shortcuts also , as implied, saves your time.

2. DO use the quick close program then make a shortcut for it .

3. DONT LEAVE the phone in a GPRS mode, always make sure that you've closed a GPRS connection. To do this, better restart the SAP so that the G sign is removed.

Sakin...

DO ..close all running non-system appz before a restart.

DO NOT let your phone run low on physical mem then restart coz you'll end up with factory default settings.

Try to avoid removing the battery while the device is still on... Shutting down your Smartphone properly will keep constantly modified data intact.

Like the dictionary...

DO!

keep your OFFICIAL RECIEPT in a safe place (at least for 1 year)  para sa warranty.

DO!

with your official receipt, make sure that you avail of the free keypads repalcement from Brightpoint. sayang din yun! kasi after the warranty period, you have to pay for the keypads na...

i know this is quite off-topic but are the answer button(the one that turns to gulaman) and the soft keys part of the warranty...???

yes they are part of the warranty. you could have them replaced for free if your SAP is still within the warranty period of 1 year.
