Guest exosyphen Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Thanks! Also I decertified my phone now
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 great :D.... do you like the Quick menu idea? :)
Guest exosyphen Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Yeah ... sure :) I am off to play a drag racing game I just found :D
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 ey exo .. did you look into something as Maximum number of sounds? maybe that might speed up everything too if its set to something like 4 (instead of the default of 32 (on most computers) i cant seem to find a value which sets that :S
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Also do you think we can get permission to edit the shareware pak graphics from the quake guys? like only reduce the quality or something? we might get it if we asked and tell them there is no money profit in it? :S so will you compile a new version in a moment? :)
Guest exosyphen Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Hi, I will compile a new quake later today. I have a small SPV game to finish and release today :) I asked the id guys about that ... but no reply from they until now.
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 whats the email address? i will try to reach them about this too
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 i mailed him... lets hope we get an answer soon (one of us).. :)
Guest exosyphen Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 I emailed him ... last year :)
Guest fraser Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 What I would like is to attract some Quake moders to create a few small levels (low polycount) + low textures and throw in some bots to have a deatchmatch against bots. With good level design, we could play a deathmatch against 2-3 bots, at over 10fps which is playable. I would do some level editing myself, but with exams on my head and heaps of work at my little company ... I am out of time. However, I am planning to take a weekend and visit my parents, and most likely I will take my laptop and devote those days to work on some Quake content. Put a note of your thoughts on your website, make the exposure work for you. Hell, you've probably sold a few mobiles already!!
Guest exosyphen Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 I will do so in the site update & new Quake release that is comming tomorrow.
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 so have you managed to do some minor things to quake? :)
Guest badboy4life Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 The autoexec i was using before mapped the keys to the directions, i've changed that now so can use the numbers to change weapons. Thanks for the pointers.
Guest exosyphen Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 Good :) Not yet ultimasnake ... I have setup a secondary hosting for exosyphen.ro and I am waiting for the new DNS changes to kick in.
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 Quake is now mirrored on my site too: www.monolithix.org/SPV_software.html
Guest exosyphen Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 Thanks monolithix :) ... when I got my SPV you site was the first to stumble upon and load my phone with great stuff :D
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 Exo when can we expect the new build? :) heheh any news on development?
Guest exosyphen Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 http://www.exosyphen.ro/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20 Look towards the bottom and follow the thread. I am sorry to tell this, but I will no longer support / develop / publish any form of Quake related stuff. Good intentions from John Carmack, some more from some of us ... and some of us that got the whole thing wrong.
Guest ultimasnake Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 y? :lol::(:D:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(
Guest benwatt Posted January 16, 2004 Report Posted January 16, 2004 http://www.exosyphen.ro/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20 Look towards the bottom and follow the thread. I am sorry to tell this, but I will no longer support / develop / publish any form of Quake related stuff. Good intentions from John Carmack, some more from some of us ... and some of us that got the whole thing wrong. It would be a real shame if you were to let an extremely small minority of people put you off SPVQuake. The vast majority of us really appreciate what you're doing, and would love to see this project continue. So ignore the few stupid people, and keep going
Guest exosyphen Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 I just felt frustrated ... i can take s**t in my emails ... but in annoys me on public forums. Maybe I will stick to the GPL and start charging guests and distribute free copies to good people. This is legal  According to the GPL I am allowed to charge for the costs of delivery in this case, the bandwidth to download spvQuake. I wonder how will people be able to pay me 0.25 cents or even less :D :( :(
Guest midnight Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 I just felt frustrated ... i can take s**t in my emails ... but in annoys me on public forums. sorry, but thats why its called a forum
Guest midnight Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 oooops, shouldnt have said that, wont get my copy of Quake now cos i'm not 'Good People', oh what a shame
Guest Gorskar Posted January 17, 2004 Report Posted January 17, 2004 Thats a real shame - I really thought you were making progress. What people are emailing abuse to you? Its a bit iffy about whether you need to release the latest source, but as its still not a fully working release I think you're ok. As long as you're still working on it it certainly doesnt bother me or most other people I would imagine! Trouble is I bet theres at least one complainer who's just going to grab your work (and of course John Carmack's) and try and sell it to mugs on Handango. As concerned citizens we will be sure to mass mail handango if this does happen. We support you, and would love to see this project go forward. If you drop, many moons will pass before someone else takes it up again.
