I'm not normally an early adopter.  I guess I need to go back to my old, non-bleeding edge ways.

yeah I tend to wait it out ans see what people say before I jump in when it comes to my phone...

This will open the door to cooking, though, and just one month after release of the phone. We waited a long time afte the 910 before we could cook.

that is very true. and I remember how exciting it was when that beta ROM was leaked and how things went nuts after that :)

Downloading now - maybe they've removed the dependency on ActiveSync. If not, I'm going to update it from work tomorrow.

I am downloading now...one thing I am wondering...will it blank out My Storage when I do it? I heard when you hard reset from the setting menu it blanks out My storage...that is where my Igo is and that is a big file to transfer back in again...

My new hobby is learning how to cook, and I'm not referring to food or drugs. I also spend time with my girlfriend and our dog!

I just finished downloading it... that took forever!

Hard resetting your phone from the setting menu didn't blank out 'my storage' when I used to flash the i910. When you use the hard button method (e.g. press volume up and lock buttons) on the i920 to perform a hard reset, 'my storage' isn't touched.

I am going to update right now. I will let you know if the VZN update program blanks out 'my storage.'

FYI hard reseting at boot won't blank my storage, but if you do it though the "clear all data" thing in the settings menu, it will.

I'm going to hold off to see what is changed before flashing. I am lazy and don't like resetting all my options and titanium lol.

And any word on whether this can be run on win 7 in xp mode?

And I wonder if the i920 updates are similar to what's noted here for the i8910. I know it's symbian, and on a different processor. But being that's it's rolled out at the same time makes it likely that similar issues are being addressed.

http://www.puzi8.com...8910-soon.html/

"Many Samsung Omnia HD i8910 users has been complaining about a lot of the issues in user community. And today, It seems that complaint report has finally paid off. the news from Gsmarena said that Samsung just announced Samsung Omnia HD i8910 users will get an upcoming firmware update that will improve on some of the issues soon. At that same time, the news also said possibly this fireware update will be available in January 2010. And that will brings a bit changes such as an improved browser, with faster user interface, kinetic scrolling, a new graphic engine for better playback."

Probably because I just bricked mine with the old one. And they probably just haven't updated the file yet. It's still the 410 MB one.
