For those who want a nice camera, try this one from MIUI:

Have you been able to find exposure settings is this? I had a look in it, and I found that the shutter button opens up zoom control, but the +/- on the left side looks to me like white balance, not exposure. Thanks

I guess exposure is automatic. Couldn`t find anything else to set.

Roms from far far away:

I'm still on CM10 (not 10.1) R1 and recently took to switching to 2G from 3G to avoid the "3G reboot" problem while on the move around town and my battery life is significantly better as a result. I know that 2G should use less battery than 3G but I am surprised at the difference. I don't know if this would be the case on any ROM (i.e. not CM10/10.1)?
Yes, I have exactly the same experience on variety of ROM's (stock, stock-based, etc.), with "2G only" phone seems to consume 3 times less power (e.g. get 3 solid days of usage, compared with 1 day with 3G).

thanks for confirming. It's a nice feature to have, especially with such a rubbish camera as we have. But in saying that, when you are talking about cameras on mobiles, exposure control almost always means image processing. And whenever that happens, image quality takes the hit.

Anyway, if someone wants exposure control, the camera below has it. I don't think its as fast, or as lightweight, as the MIUI camera, but its working much better than the stock one atm.

I recommended deep sleep power saver pro . it turns of data and WiFi while the phone is locked and turns them on after a specified time to allow emails and things to come through . 66% after a full days usage with both WiFi and data on!!

Did you do a clean install with the relevant wipes etc. - e.g. as suggested here?

http://www.modaco.co...60#entry2081943
No, I didn't because it was easier with OTA, and besides this I don't have any problems. Thanks for the answer. I will retry after a clean install.

Cheers

Hopefully not a dumb question and I have browsed/searched but have not found the answer...

Is it OK/safe to use TWRP rather than CWM to install CM10.1?

http://www.modaco.co...u8818-30012013/

Thanks.

Dazzozo have you heard about the entropy generator app 'Seeder', it provides significant lag reduction meaning the phone will be smoother

The issue Seeder addresses is that Android draws from a predefined entropy pool—or set of random data—for almost all of its operations. When that limited pool of random data dries up, it has to rebuild itself, which results in delays while apps and services wait for the data they need.

Seeder takes the process that generates this data and runs it every second (it's extremely light on resources—this usually happens behind the scenes anyway, so you don't notice it), then feeds that information to a new random data pool that's constantly kept refreshed. Then, the app uses that fresh data to "top off" the system pool so it never runs out. That means you never have to wait for the generation service to start up and fill the pool with random data. The result? Almost everything about your Android phone is several times faster.

Seeder doesn't actually work, its a placebo. Some people on XDA managed to prove it.

Maybe this explains it for CM10.1 also?

Great rom Dazzozo. Few Issues ive come across, Tvcatchup not working, the notification led only working on white ( but thats now working with an app ) and on the in call volume if you take the volume bar right to the lowest point it makes the volume that loud you sound like a dalek. Also sometimes a little bit of lag on the lock screen.
